Re: Corey's drift gem, n/a 1600 twin weber (new drift video

Basically yes, the back of the rack end hitting the sleeve on the rack itself is a limiting factor if you take the factory LCA/knuckle stops out of the equation. Machining down the rack end, or using thread-on spacers between the rack and rack end, means that the rack will travel further before it h...

Re: Gemini Nationals Easter '15 - Port Stephens

We're in! Missus won't be coming again this year due to Uni, but me and Footner are going in for a spot together. Same deal as Elky, told them I was with the rest of the crew and they said they had it sorted for me.

Hopefully the curse of clutch failures doesn't strike for a third time in a row.

Re: Gemini Nationals Easter '15 - Organising Things Input Ne

My input, as said the drive from Adelaide is a long one no matter where it is. Only way that changes is if it the weekend rotates to Vic one year or something of that nature, and we're all pretty certain that won't ever happen eh? Trying to make it easier on us is appreciated, but whether it's 14 ho...

Re: Gemini Nationals 6 Easter 2014

Paint's done. Panelbeating gurus will cringe at the quality of the work, but I did alright with only what I had lying around. Now to just put it back together and throw some rego on it. Hopefully will be driving it around by next week, enough time for a shakedown.

Re: Gemini Nationals 6 Easter 2014

You guys going to give a s*#t if we rock up in a primered car? Less than a month away now, and the whole car is apart with me finding more and more imperfections with less time to fix them up. Got a professional who is going to do me a solid and lay some decent colour, so I don't want to waste the o...

Re: Gemini Nationals 6 Easter 2014

Rick's after a cabin AFAIK Lok, so my/our situation is still the same over here. Happy to split one if you are.

I'm only paying for a site for myself and the missus, so I'm happy to split with him if he is. Got his details?

Re: MCM Inspired DIY Gemini Series - Ideas/Thoughts

Update: I will be starting filming of episodes next week when I pick up my Nationals shell. The plan is to film as many different DIY jobs as possible in between now and April, and premiere on Youtube once I get back from the weekend. Those staying at the park for nats might even get an early previe...

Re: Gemini Nationals 6 Easter 2014

The difference is the wagon was a lemon with a lot of problems, and I had less time to get it ready. Now I'm giving myself plenty of time, and the mechanicals are already there ready to go. I'm even entering it in the hillclimb I'm so confident :D Hilux will be a backup, so yeah I will still be ther...

Re: HillClimb Nationals 2014

Putting my name down if I'm able to at this late stage. The car I bring will be reasonably well setup, nothing fancy, but I missed out on the hillclimb completely last year, and I haven't driven a Gem hard in at least as long.

PM'ing you firebug :)

Re: Gemini Nationals 6 Easter 2014

I'm 90% sure that I will now be there in a Gem! Looked at a shell today that fits the bill perfectly, and it won't take long at all for me to get it ready ;)

Re: Yay/nay.

If it was me, and in a position to do paint and panel from scratch, I'd lose the window chrome and do the blackouts around the windows ala standard. That'd make them suit a lot better because it's closer to how they would have looked on the Isuzu/Opels. Makes them blend into the body styling better ...

Re: Gemini Nationals 6 Easter 2014

Not yet, have been building up funds since paying for the new shed. Worst case I'll just bring the Hilux, but I'll more than likely get myself a cabin rather than a plot. Will bring the missus too if she's keen/free.

No idea about Eli, Cam or Ant at this point.

Re: Are we all in the shed working on our Nationals cars?

I've been focusing on getting my new working environment sorted for the past month and a bit. Massive shed in the industrials around the corner from work. Go there for a few hours every night after clock off, chip away at s*#t, should get lots more done once I've got racking and a workbench up. Got...

Re: 1975 TX Coupe "Zero" - Lowdown Styled Drift Gem

Been quite busy the last few months. Those close to me or friends on FB would know that I recently started renting a very big shed around the corner from my work, and moved Zero in with a couple of others and the trailer. It's taken a few weeks to get power and a workbench sorted out, but now I'm st...
