well... things didnt quite go as planned....

17.2 first run with new 1600 head and port matched manifold. Car was pinging its head off!!!! timing was @ 4 deg which is where i always run it

17.3 2nd run still pinging hardcore , but i didnt back off this time.. somehow managed to go a lot slower... go figure

17.6 3rd run.. now this is where it gets interesting!!! on the return road , temp shoots up past 200 , oil pressure is 20 psi , and rattling its head off ( not a big end rattle ) , so i pull up back at trailer and shut down..

Come back 30 odd mins later , car is almost impossible to start , and still rattling...

I think its dead , or not far off it...

disappointing really , but its still a lot of fun!!!!

rebuild time i think....

vids to come!!!

engine is screwed i reckon, i remember we had an engine do the same as what you just mentioned, ended up starting it and vacumn was off a bit, stopped it for a bit, then restarted it (took longer to start like you said) and vacumn kept dropping each time it was restatred....ended up spinning a bearing about 15 mins after that...lol..

you should of kept the revs around 4,000rpm then drop it into drive like we were saying....lol..

i dont think she did steve, i think the thread in general said she ran low 10s and had the car get a bit sketchy on her, but damo did run 8s again to back up his run from jambo..

Julie always drives the car up to the staging lanes, even if i am driving so may be you saw that.
How you can tell who is driving is by the race numbers
