Hey Lok do you reckon your coupe can run a low 15" pass?

Be good day out this 8)

The day has arrived.. im trying to con my old girlfriend into holding a video camera for me so i can get footage and see how well the car performs.

Taking 3 sets of tyres , all with different profiles , and will play with only the timing this time around , and see what times i come up with ( not expecting anything flash at all... be happy with a flat 17 to start with )

Yes it was a street meet/shootout , but they still had the test and tune..

I got 4 runs in , only ended up taking another set of rims n tyres out , car had 185/60/13's for the first 2 runs , then i tried the combo of 225/60/13's , which had a MUCH different rolling diameter ( the theory of larger tyre = more speed was what i was aiming for )

First run was reasonably good ( left time cards in ute )
Second run was better , it was at this point i changed the wheels and tyres , checked the timing ( these 2 runs were @ 4 deg BTDC ). The timing was also changed to 8 deg BTDC ( i noticed on the 2nd run it was pinging in top gear at around 5000rpm )

3rd run was as good as the first run timewise , and pretty much same with 4th run..

So next time i'll try a 185/65/13 tyre on the rear , and a 205/60/13 combo and see which is going to give me better times. And if i get time , another dizzy combo , with added counterweight to try advance the timing a bit quicker.

Also , i didnt get onto stall on the first or 2nd run ( its been quite a long time since i have been down the strip ) and think i got close on the 3rd and 4th. But i'll set up an incar camera so i can check if im getting up on stall when i leave the line.

P.s , i was the only gemini out there tonight!!!!

16.297 ( basically 16.3 )

i'll get all the details once i grab it all from the car

Edit:

reaction 0.928
60ft 2.213
330ft 6.596
660ft 10.293

across the line time/speed
mph 82.06
kph 132.06
et 16.297

with the tyre change and timing adjustment , i was almost identical on time with the 3rd and 4th run ,

3rd et 16.601
4th et 16.598

pretty consistant for those 2 runs , got it stalling up on both these runs ( not right on stall.. need more practice ) but will be heading out hopefully again in a fortnights time on saturday again!

costs on the night were $38 for entry/racing ( this includes 1 passenger , but had no-one with me ) and $5 for ANDRA licence on the night

So im planning on heading back out this saturday afternoon.. still hunting somoene keen on holding the video camera , i have changed tyres again , to a ( hopefully ) more friendly rolling diameter, and will be tweaking the dizzy again , if i get 5 runs in ill be happy , then i'll do a carby swap for next time , and see exactly what difference there is between side draught and downdraughts to see exactly which is the better carb!
