Re: QLD Club Rego. Whos Interested
OK so we have joined the OSJCC and went on our first run with them on Sunday.
They didnt know the area so they let me lead the way.
They seem like a really nice bunch of people from what we have seen so far. They are happy to incorporate things we want to do ie: the nationals.
So for those asking questions about the SIV you can find everything here: http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/Regis ... stions.pdf
The costs involved (I got this after nearly 1 hour on the phone) are 12 months CTP Class 5 = $57:60 and SIV Reg = $127:80 Total $185:40 per year.
You will be issued with S plates (S-12345) or use your custom plates (see ppq.com.au)
So there you have it, if your Gem is a weekender this is the way to go.
If you need any more info feel free to PM me.
Cheers
Andrew

QLD SIV ( Special Interest Vehicles )
Restricted vehicle use
Vehicles registered under the scheme have certain limitations placed on their use. This is reflected in the
reduced fees and compulsory third party insurance premium. Registered operators must confine their vehicle’s
use to:
participating in rallies organised by incorporated vehicle clubs
participating in processions for which a Special Events Permit has been issued under the Transport
Operations (Road Use Management –Accreditation and Other Provisions) Regulation 2005
exhibiting the vehicle in displays, fetes or similar functions conducted for religious, charitable or
educational purposes
ceremonial purposes (weddings, formals) involving immediate family members provided this is not done
for fee or reward. Immediate family means parents, grandparents, sons, daughters, grandchildren but
not extended family relationships such as nephews and nieces
preparing for, proceeding to, and returning from the above activities
direct travel to and from an Approved Inspection Station (AIS) for the purposes of obtaining a safety
certificate before offering the vehicle for sale
travel in order to have the vehicle repaired. There is no distance restriction in these circumstances
however, such travel must be reasonable and justifiable by the vehicle operator
road testing within a 15 kilometre radius from the place where the vehicle is garaged. The purpose of
the travel must be to road test the vehicle following repair or restoration and not for any other purpose.
This does not include use as a means of transport.

Its not as restive as the above post makes out.
The OSJCC is happy to incorporate "most" of the things we want to do and have not let us down yet.

Hi everyone! New member here, but have been lurking for a while looking for the right project car (where's the damn ninja emoji when you need it).
Hate to be bumping an old thread but has anyone put their gem on historic rego? Was it straight forward enough once you're a member of a club like OSJCC?

Re: QLD Club Rego. Whos Interested
Thanks Andrew, club rego was what I meant I just called it historic cause I always see the S plates and think historic. I had previously sent an email off to OSJCC, so I will wait for a response and go from there.
Cheers

Re: QLD Club Rego. Whos Interested
Just so you know, you dont have to have the S plates.
If you buy custom plates from PPQ you can use these instead.

Re: QLD Club Rego. Whos Interested
Yeah I already bought plates ready to go on my car when it arrives. Will most likely be flamed for what i got though.....
Re: QLD Club Rego. Whos Interested
Thats fine, so when filling the form just put down that plate and you wont need to pay the $25 plate fee.
They will ask where you got these plate, just tell them PPQ
