NANKERVIS08's SR20DET TX Sedan

Post by NANKERVIS08 »

so apparently im supposed to make one of these things according to andy

As some of you guys know i own a 75 tx sedan.
originally it had a 1.6 ten i put a pretty hot 1.8 in it with a few mods and some down draught webbers on it, it went alright was a bit of fun, for when i was on my P plates.
ive now acquired my full licence and its time for a little more power and boost.
i contemplated going turbo g series but i felt it was really worth my time. its an N/A motor never ment for boost being boosted. something will go wrong and they are fairly limited to their power (which is a shame)
but the sr is built standard with boost and is pretty much a bolt in conversion
just swap the engine mounts and she bolts straight in!
not really. im just f*#cking with all you noobs
so i started this conversion about 3 weeks ago pretty much
its not easy
its incredibly hard and lots of standing and laying underneath the car thinking is had.

annnyways i have this week and the next to finish it as everything is closed til after summernats
which is the aim to get there and get a bit more power on the dyno then 69HP haha
soooo this is where i started
Image
i cant exactly find the engine bay shot but whatever its a g series thing

so then andy and i pulled the g series engine out
then i bolted up the gearbox whilst andy supervised
made sure i didnt hurt myself and stuff
Image

then another mate and i did this

then we worked out the flat floor tx mounts do NOT work
so we cut them out and she slid in nicely
buuuut the intake manifold fouled on the brake booster
if i wanted to sit it high it would of been fine but bonnet scoops bumps are just plain f*#cking gay
thats why jonno loves them
the reason it fouled is because the inlet manifolds plenum is underneath instead of on top of the manifold
sooooo 200 bucks later on ebay i bought a pretty shiny greddy style one which should do the trick nicely
so today we made the new gearbox crossmember and bolted it all up
just needs the plates welded in and bobs your uncle not moving
Image
i dont have a picture of it in atm but when its done il post s*#t tones of pictures of all the mounts and crap
and yes ofc SKIDS
so heres the engine in where i want it and the bonnet closes :D
Image
Image
so yeah
and heres a picture of my wiring
im pretty much done just need to get the loom inside then i can connect everything up and start it

Image

soo yeah
pretty much where im upto
mounts get fully made and done NEXT weekend the hopefully exhaust gets made monday week tailshaft hopefully this week then order my intercooler and get that s*#t sorted also before two weeks haha
any questions hook i more then likely have forgotten something
cheers

Nice and tidy wiring dude. And look at this has solved a problem I have been having in terms of mounting my igniter and (new) demister circuits.
