This car has been in my family for about 15 years it was bought by my
brother Mark (R.I.P) who owned it for about 2 years, He was in the South
Eastern Gemini Club in Vic where the car wore the STRIP no plates.

My brother Dean inherited it from him and moved to the Gold Coast we
rebuilt the car and he had the graphics added. The car has been off the
road alot more than it has been on the road in the last 10 years since the
rebuild.
This car is more of a shrine for us and my Brother Dean is
having another kid and has sold the car to me.
Big plans, want to use it for hill climbs and track days but im in no rush. Cheers if youve bothered to read all of this. Phil

Here are some more recent picks of the car. It has a bit of damage on
the passenger rear quater where the wheel came off at 120k.
Its not as shiney as it used to be but pretty bloody good for nearly 15
years old. It was painted by Abrahams paint in Richmond Vic.
Im going to get the colours matched and sprayed exactly the same again.

Yea the green one could chirp 1st it was real tuff. The orange s*#t box
next to the sandpiper in one of the photos was my first car, It copped
alot of abuse, it was tuff 2, it could spin 1 wheel in the wet. The photo of
me in the sandpiper was actualy an attempt at a skid. If you look closley
thats not exhaust smoke. I thought I was cool when I was 16.

Heres a few picks of the car as it sits in my back yard now. Theres a bit
of damage to the rear quater where the rear wheel came off while my
brother had it. Im looking into posibly fitting flares to cover the damage
and to allow abit more clearence. As im only considering registering the
car to be able to get to and hopfully from the track for the AASA series. I
have some flares off an A9x but theyre fairly bulky, Im going to have a
better look at them and maybe look at glassing them on. Im also having
a look around at what else is available. None of the car or the engine bay
is as shiny as it used to be but I dont really give a s*#t about shiny. Its
currently got the 1800 in it running the 500 holley and yes it does run
hard it just feuls up if it idles for too long. Im looking into conversions
and diff upgrades too. Im also looking at getting a cams aproved full
cage so I can use the car for hill climbs and other sprint meets other
than the AASA meets at Queensland Raceway. I still have heaps of work
to do and as Ive said I want to get the car resprayed exactly how it is again.

FARKING neighbours left their handbrake off on a little smart car, it rolled down the hill and into my front yard then into my car.
Pissed off have been trying to get a loan to get the rust cut out and get it going again now their insurance will probably write it off for $1800
and I recon it will cost me heaps more to fix, once I find a good panel beater that could do it.

man that is ROUGH. s*#t, i know how you feel, not as bad though. I registered my car, then tried to drive it home not 2 hours later at night and f*#cking moron
on a push bike going about 60km/h with no lights and wearing head phones hits my f*#cking drivers door. week old paint. just rips ya heart out ay?

that is a shame. woulda been nice to see that car return to all its former glory. with the sentimental value that car must have, i'd definitely fix it...

looking at the pic thats looking straight from behind, id say you would be better buying a donor gem from someone and cutting the rear end off and replace the rear end

Yea the plan is to get another car and chop it up, thought about reshelling but then it wont be the same car,
I`d rather spend the extra time and money and save whatever possible off this one, need to find a good panel beater that can do the work properly.
Also need some love from my mortal enemy the bank and for the other sea hunts insurance to cough up and the ball will be rolling.
Smart cars are tough little f@#ks it only had a split in the bumper but they told me it had damaged in behind it and done $2700 worth of damage to it.
I initially wanted a few litres of blood for it but calmed down and realised that sh1t happens and i lucky my kids werent out the front.
Will also look at getting another car that has an engine conversion and a descent interior so I can do a complete tidy up.

Got a straight shell yesterday and am going to carve it up and repair the damage to mine.
Also looked at an injected turbo gem today that im seriously trying to justify it to the missus.
So really looking forward to getting the car on the road again.
The missus is pretty cool about it she just wants to be able to take the kids to school in it but she wants power steering,
So im looking at putting flares on and the widest possible tyres with no power steering.

good to hear :D

also looking forward to seeing back to how it was.

power steering wouldn't be really necessary, would it? its pretty light to start with ay...

you're right about the paint job, if you change the scheme it wont really be the same car, my brother also used to own my car before it changed hands a few times and ended up with me, definitely doesn't feel like the same car as when it was blue...

cheers.
