no if you clean it out with unleaded after each time you start it. if it starts to get eaten out i will just replace it with a plastic one with polished steal be ok with a surge tank. just might have to run fuel througt the motor after. or as my dad did in this super sedan run it on thinners.BAD 44u wrote:dont run methanol in an aluminium fuel tank. it will get eaten away

it should be tough it is a motor out of an sprintcar. I want to do some drag runs and stuff like that is will be s*#t for drifting but i will give it a go.GEMWRC wrote:sounds tough , please use it from something more purposeful than JUST burnouts , could make it a drag/track/drift car.. soooooo many different types of events other than burnout comps that these V8 gems should be used in..

it will be having mechanical injection so i dont have an ecu. it just runs off of the fuel pump.BAD 44u wrote:yeah i have 2 tunes on my ecu one for alcphol and a basic tune for petrol to clean it all out and i have the fuel pump hooked up to a switch with an extra screw on hose for pumping the ofuel out of the tank.

car is being a bitch i am just sick of it everything has to be modified in some way or the other. so i am going to take a few months off of it.
here is the last update for a while
it has steering now. had to cut down the cloum and the shaft and weld it in the firewall. i still have to fill in around the steering cloum and weld it up and grind back the welds

today i got back into my gemini after a short break. i have finished all of the welding in the enigne bay now all the wholes and the rust has been removed.
here are some pictures i will get some more off my phone when i have more time but you get the idea.

next on the list is finish welding the back of the chassic support in. and after that brakes and wheels. which i have to save up for abit as i want to do something different and after the motor i am short on funds
