All Japan Day (SA) Pics - Feb 27th

Post by Hachikansai77 »

A couple of days late, but here are my pics from the All Japan Day on Sunday. Starting to become quite well known across the country, and will only get bigger.

Standouts were Fonzy's Zokusha style TA22 Celica, the only Toyota 2000GT in Aus (Worth $750k!), a plethora of Datsuns ranging from Zs to a KPGC110 Skyline (AKA 240K coupe), and of course the Bellett Club which made an appearance.
The top car though, in my opinion at least, was the "Buick Opel by Isuzu" that Dave from the Bellett club imported back to Aus on his recent trip to the states, still with Californian plates and all! The same, yet totally different!

Sorry to anyone who likes the modern stuff, but everyone else taking photos on the day overlooked pretty much all the older cars anyway, so this sort of balances it out:

Was a great day out, apart from getting a parking ticket when I left, but there's worse things that could happen. Like getting defected...

Cheers,

Jonno: The SR Gem belongs to "Antus", and has recently been attending track days at Mallala again. I'm afraid I don't know a lot about it mechanically, but I'd say that cooler is there for a very good reason :P

Nimbus: funny you should mention this car, as I know the blokes who brought it down very well. Hung out with them for most of the day in the shade as the sun was a bit strong.
They're both fans of Geminis, and have a couple of bashers up at their farm. They've also tinkered with several Gems for years with "MR ZZZ".

Loving that opel coupe. Interesting seeing it all on the other side. wonder how the steering shaft goes with the exhaust.

Theres two of these still kicken it around here.

One is the same colour as that one single turbo RB26.

Doesn't mind rippen a skid ;)

the others purple would be nice if it was restored and stuff.

The pics look better on a full screen than my iphone
