What was your First Car?

Post by SoYank »

A diverging sequence of posts in another thread touched on this topic & I thought it'd be cool.

For my first car I had been drooling over my Stepdad's AMC Javelin with 360 for ages & it had been promised to me :D

Unfortunately it was totaled 4 weeks before I turned 16 and instead I wound up with our old, brown, 4-door Hornet with 232 straight 6
Not quite the same but I would have probly killed myself in the Javelin & with 4 doors I could pile in all my buddies for excursions to the beach and such. I had a love/hate relationship with that car but it ran & ran & ran. AND Fat Albert had my namesake!!

My first was a white TE Gem sedan. Worked 1600,lowered on Dragway centerlines. Sweet ride. It got me hooked on them and I'm still driving them today. (many years later)

My first registered car was a 1971 corolla sedan, with a corona 2.4 litre in it. f*#cking thing hauled.

Same as the one in the pic, but metallic green with a white leather roof.

First car I owned was a 1966 HD Ute. On the farm, got rolled about 10 times, hardly ever dinted it. tough as anything that old beast.

after a year, roof got jumped on, totally destroyed it..it now sits in the backyard, full of rust
