either adequately explain the problems you are/were having or shut up and stop dragging it down.. it's already been made clear that there is likely a casting difference in the diff housings as not everyone has had the same problem..
sorry for hurting a non human like things feelings btw
no hurt feelings here dude.. it just sounds as if you got in over your head have no idea what you're talking about and ended up ripped off by your diff shop..

archangel62 wrote:I got the studs punched out and the hub/centre carriers machined down to 57mm the other day. They're stepped, so there's still the wider step to centre the disc (although the wheel studs would probably suffice). It only cost me $100, life goes on :) I'm getting really excited now.

So just to confirm, can anyone draw up a quick diagram of where things might hit? Sounds like a case of just quickly chucking it in a lathe and taking off a tiny bit of material. I think I know where it is, but a diagram and a rough amount (e.g. 1mm, 2mm, XXthou) would be sweet! Better safe than sorry, I'd rather have a machine shop charge me for it than a diff shop.
Gene FJ20DEBT wrote:i cant believe peopel are machining the axles down instead of boring the drums out.. what happens later when you want to go disk?
Nonono, that's not it. I machined the axles down so Gemini wheels fit. I'm not ordering Works with a Commodore centre bore! The disks are still centred on the larger Commodore carrier, but it steps down just before the face of the disk so a Gemini wheel will fit. Bit tedious to explain with words, but I have a few pictures :D

Since I bought my awesome LSD I've been ripping skids everywhere and now my gearbox is broken!

I think Altra should buy me a new Gearbox!!
