HELP - early TX owners Gearbox

Hey all.

Anyone know or have a pic of where the reverse switch is on the mse box?

I can't see where it is or where it exists.

Parts Catalogue shows Reverse Lamp Switch in same position on TX MSG pre A8C and later, just below and behind LHS of shifter hole

That's the same as it is on the 5speed I have but the only thing I can find is what Looks like a sump plug?

BUGGER just realised I scrapped an MSG 4spd years ago
If I remember they have a different reverse light setup to later Gems
my first Gem was pre ADR TX and I got confused when I then got a TD and it was different
it may well be blanked and have some other way to activate reverse lights but LOL X2 that was 32 years ago very vague memory

Sorry for the big photo. Hopefully you can see it there. It's on the drivers side toward the front of the gearbox

Yeah i put a bolt in the opposite side and use some rope as my gearbox mount :lol:

Thanks for that.

Yeah great advice but when the switch is physically not there and it's in the car it's a bit hard to look.
