Engine rebuild

Post by cjcrow »

New engine built, what process do you go for running in the engine and breaking in the cam? Do you break in the cam, then run in the engine? Or just run in the engine? Or any other way?

500km , dont go over 80 , dont over rev the motor , load it up so its working ie: go up a hill in 4th at 2000rpm or fill car full of fat chicks and go cruising.
Getting too old for this s*#t!!

Use a cam break in lube, when first starting keep above 2000rpm, for 30 min check for leaks and a then load it up either on a Dyno to get the tune right ASAP or if it's standardish just don't over rev or labour the motor as lok said.

Ok so break in the cam, then load it up and go for a drive.

I just wasn't sure if you needed to load up the engine straight away, and if so how the cam got broken in.

Thanks for the help all, will be doing it this weekend.
