King Edward Park Mattara Hillclimb 2015

Post by firebug »

Well that was it, the very last Mattara Hillclimb at King Edward Park run last Sunday and Monday. Newcastle Council is turning half of the track into a pathway for pedestrians so they held off until after this year's event. What a shame, this historic event has been run here for 58 years. I remember sitting on the hill watching as a teenager. DaveHat and I entered sharing his VX Supertaxi but got rejected due to the vast amount of entrants wanting a go for the last time :(. We went out for a look on Sunday anyhow and I also went back in Monday with the family.

Perfect weather both days with barely a cloud in the sky and the ocean was like a pond. I took some s%*tty footage on my phone for ya's to look at and stole some piccies from the MGCCN Facetube page.

Far better in full screen:

The 13BT Escort ... conservsative as ever!

Good footage mate ... championships aside, shame some got to run both days and other missed out completely given it was the last ever event to be held there.

Insert SULK --> here!
Just like ASSHAT only ... BIGGER!

lol yeah I've seen the escort at Gunnedah drags, does a similar effort :)

he drives speedway cars too so that probably explains the car control :)

Id hate to admit but I was impressed by both the hybrids, f*ck they were quick. I ended up taking 300+ pics with my new camera one day I will upload them.
