Custom Bonnet Gas Strut Brackets
Custom Bonnet Gas Strut Brackets
Hey guys, I made a set of these for myself and has been alot of interest in them so will be making more if anyone wants some.
There a bracket made from alloy which bolts to the underside of the existing fender bolts in the engine bay and provides a mounting point for a gas strut and looks good while doing it
The sale is for a pair of Brackets Only you will still need to buy a pair of VT gas struts (other struts may be used but its what ive used and they have a excellent mount on the end that attaches to the bonnet to make it easy to fit just make sure they are the CORRECT PRESSURE if you get too high it will bend things. Ill find out the actual rating asap)
Here's a Pic of some brackets ive made for previous orders:
And a pic of the bracket and strut fitted to the car:
Here is a link to a fitment guide, Ive only completed the first half so far, waiting on a pair of struts but will be done shortly
http://gemswa.proboards.com/index.cgi?a ... hread=3327
Price is $50 for a pair of brushed alloy ones or $60 for polished (the first set in the top pic is brushed and the rest are polished) +$5 Postage
Pm me if your interested

I could possibly make a bracket for the bonnet end which allows you to use the stock mounting bolts, But Yea would just cost more... Tek screws are cheap/easy/fast/effective.
But if you want a cleaner look for a show car etc I could make something up.
BTW for those who want a Set PM me with how many you want (1 set = 2 brackets) and if you want them Polished or Brushed alloy.

Here's link to the fitment guide:

IMPORTANT NOTE
We bought a set of Universal Heavy duty struts for Jazzas car which had universal mounts for the bonnet side similar to the VT struts. They fit but were too high a pressure and Bent the bonnet side mount, made a indent in the bonnet and also twisted my bracket a little.
So will have to make sure you get the correct pressure struts, Stock VT ones are correct ill try to find the actual pressure rating asap.
