www.TURBOGEMINI.com - Turbos - Blow Through Carby - Brakes

Post by TurboGemini »

Hey guys.

www.turbogemini.com

For those that aren't familiar with our website, we have a lot of different products, most designed for Geminis that people might be keen to check out, including;

- Big brake upgrades
- EFI kits
- Weber carbys & air cleaners
- Carby upgrade kits
- Turbo manifolds
- Bolt-on turbo kits
- Fuel pumps
- Blow through carby kits
plus more.....

Usually the kits are put together on a per order basis, however most parts are kept in stock for fast turnaround. All of the smaller products are in stock like carbys, fuel pumps, turbo manifolds, etc.

The turbo manifolds are a recent addition to the website, as we used to get them fabricated for each turbo kit sold, but we now have enough turbo manifolds in stock to be able to offer them separatey, not just in full turbo kits as people order them.

We have a write up on basic car/engine mods, and the development of my own car, from worked G161 to G200 to turbo/EFI/intercooled G180 with dyno results at various stages.

We are also building a dyno mule to dyno test our range of products to give people real-world performance data on what they can expect when bolting something on. That will be on the site soon.

So check it out and email if you need any parts - sales@turbogemini.com

Cheers
Ben

Hi. I have a 1.6 injected Gemini. Has a crow turbro cam, H/D double valve springs and double row timing chain, .025 o/s pistons.

I'm looking at the 300hp kit. What's the turbos max boost?
Will I need a larger internal fuel pump or even external with a surge tank?
What would be the best price you could do?

Hi TD Gem,

Without going through compressor flow maps, max boost is going to be dependant on your compression ratio, fuel octane rating, intercooler efficiency, ignition timing etc. You're going to have limited max boost due to these normal things holding you back, more so that going off the edge of the compressors efficiency going by the flow map.

Saying all that, on a low compression setup with good intercooling and good fuel, no reason you couldn't run 20psi.

Are you running carby or EFI? this will help with the decision on fuel system. Either way, your stock carby fuel pump won't cut the mustard. Single external VL Turbo 070 pump will do the job. Preferably with a surge tank.

The best price I can do - check the website, that's a pretty good price. I don't think you'll find anybody selling a turbo setup with brand new parts for less.

Regards,
Ben

Hi Fumeys_td,

we only have wiring looms to suit the EFI manifolds we sell, don't have spare ones, so you'd be looking at trying to grab one from a rodeo at the wreckers, or buying some wire and the plugs brand new (not that expensive) and making a loom from scratch.

Hey guys,

we've dropped the price on our turbo kits due to being about to source some parts a bit cheaper, everything is about 10-15% cheaper, so check em out! Kits start as $1145 which is for the 250hp kit, great for stock to mild G161 1600cc engines.
