Hi all,
Further to the brake upgrade discussion Glen and I have been having we've decided to do a group buy. I've contacted Hopper Stoppers about doing this and they are 100% happy and offer a discount for us.
From what I've worked out they need to know this:
Which type of brake booster you've got.
(If you want to get a master cylinder to suit)
4 or 5 stud and whether you want smooth, slotted or xdrilled and slotted
I think these usually go for about 900$ per kit on their own (not in a group buy) so I'm not sure what I'm going to expect price wise.
Bare in mind they ARE engineerable and from what I've been told every set they've sold they have never had any one come back and say that the brakes couldn't be engineered.
Good upgrade for most of us with decent HP engines.
I did recently drive a stupid high powered Gemi with these brakes.
I since find mine really really s*#t lol
Let me know if your interested.
HOW EVER this isn't a wish list EOI.
Express interest on the basis you have at least 10% for a deposit.
I don't want to know how good this sounds or how you will have money 5 years from now.
Sounds reasonable?
Also don't want this to drag out for a while so the sooner we get stuff sorted the sooner we get them.
P.S this message is also on CGC

Can we just purchase the Hubs and the brake lines in a group buy as well??
My reason for asking is that the hoppers kit supplies new brake calipers @ $320 pair (trade price) which is one of the major costs.
Second hand commodore calipers are cheap easy to get hold of + good second hand rotors as ok as well if machined with in limits although I think I paid $80 a pair for standard VY rotors last week and have good second hand rotors sitting there.
Many people only need the kits to get wheels back on a car, rotors can be upgraded one a project is on the road.
So all I would need would be the hubs, and brake lines to suit + instructions... ( I think the hubs take standard bearings too)

I can ask if you're keen on getting on our group buy?
