For a bit of fun and cause we like to shake things up a bit.
2021 HackNats will replace the 2021 Gemini Nationals
WTF you ask. This is just for lols so calm down.
Josh Willsy and I came up with the idea to add element to next years nationals.
The idea is simple.
Buy a bucketship Gemini for fk all.
Do XYZ mods
DRIVE it to GemiNats 2021. (This is assuming we are all alive and past the very real Corona Virus issue)
Rules:

Re: HackNats - Date TBA
Rules
Gemini Must cost less than $1500 for intial investment
The less you spend the more you can have for mods
Gemini must appear roadworthy visually
The Gemini MUST be able to complete the whole weekend of driving.
Gemini Can be purchased with or without rego. \
Discussed rules for Engine and mods.
The ruling is you can use any given motor of your choice.
Originally we where going to restrict it to Isuzu but decided to make it interesting.
$500 initial purchase of motor.
Mods on motor can not exceed $500 the less you spend the better.
This does not include basic servicing items such as oil, spark plugs etc.
Bonus point for running as is.
What you cannot do is have a "$100 motor" with 5 grands worth of mods done to it.
Seems a complete waste.
You can however spend unlimited money on safety. I.e brake rebuilds/upgrades, new tyres & suspension bushes.
Rego is an unlisted expense also.
You can also have the option to modify comfort so you can buy two front seats that replace old Gemini ones.
Pair max value should be no more than whatever a pair of supercheap ones cost.
More obscene the better in regards to visuals the better, bonus for any patina or 'barn find essentials' ridiculous rims etc however these need to be cheap or free
So total investment shouldn't really exceed $3000 any more you lose points if you go over 5k then you are disqualified.
Getting defected before arrival is a disqualification.
Getting defected over the weekend is a disqualification.
Getting defected on the way home is NOT a disqualification.
Further updates to come as they are discussed.

Re: HackNats - Date TBA
Gemini can't be one you already owned that is extensively modified and registered. So I can't use the bucket and call it a day.
You can use a shell and start from there.

And the stripe doesn't count because it's already a road going car.Danman wrote:So it's like I did with stripe, but much bigger budget
Same with the coupe, same with Josh's TD.

Re: HackNats - Date TBA
Not to rehash an old thread BUT
I believe I won.
Car was under 1500, wheels were 200
Exhaust was 50
Drove to Goulburn
Thrashed, did keybangers, burnt oil, drove home
Even did the skidpan at the start of this year...
So my question.
Wtf did I win?
