OzGemini Interstate Meet. 2011

Post by Jonno »

Due to popular demand here is the thread for Next Years interstate Meet/Nationals/what ever you want to call it.

Firstly thanks to all who came this year and support me for both years.

Anywho straight to business.
From Discussion between Andrew and a few others we will Not being using Breakwall Tourist Park.
To many errors were made both this year and last with accomodation bookings money transfers etc.

So the topic of places to stay is up for discussion
As is the Location and Date.

Next year Aus Day is on a Wednesday so its really pushing a weekend.
The discussion within the campers on Monday strongly sounds like it may be moved to the Easter long weekend.
Which is a definate 4 day weekend.
So would work perfectly for our growing meet.

Suggestions and Opinions greatly welcomed.
Cheers!

Easter would be good.
The caravan park near the surf club we had lunch at looked like a nice place we could invade:
Beach just up the road and shops just down the road.

As nice as Port is. We've done it. We've cruised the roads, and seen the sights.
I know you northern boys are getting a bit old, and long hours in the car probably play havoc with your joints, but I reckon we should move south a little.
Somewhere around Newcastle would be still biased your way, but make our drive a little less extreme. Seeing as the support from our end is hampered a little by the distance and cost.
Having said that, I would probably drive there even if it was in Brisbane, but there are many punters down this way that would be heaps keener if they could afford the petch.

That is still a beatiful area, and the weather is prime that time of year.
Jonno, start a Poll. :?:

Yeh i vote for easter

I was gonna suggest we go to newy, as like greg has said, we really have just about maxed out the cruise routes around port, but newcastle is nowhere near as scenic as the port area.

But im easy, whatever is decided ill be there :D

I dont think going north more is fair for the southern guys, they already travel 14ish hours.

Kiama would be Awesome! That joint is nice as!
No way would it be too cold. The missus and I usually spend easter in Narooma, which is like 100k's south, and the weather is premium.
I would definantly vote for it.

This is a bit more resonable

Agreed, Kiama is a gun spot. How bout Forster/Tuncurry? About 100kms South of Port, still a fair trek for the Southerners though.

Any luck on those chargers Jonno?
