Hmm Macquarie Pass isn't the greatest road especially if you get caught behind a truck..

$10 PW saved will net just over $500 for the trip next year!!!

Open up an account and start saving.

this years trip took me 3 tanks of fuel ( stock 2lt modded carby with 5 speed ) accommodation for 3 days was $147 - this will be cheaper hopefully with a new venue, food was approx $70 all up including munchies during the day.

Its not as expensive as people think , so now you know rough costs , you know that for under $500 you can have a pretty good weekend and meet some interstaters , lounge around , and enjoy a relaxing weekend..

I sure as fuk dont wanna hear " i lost my license" or " my water pumps broken " or any other lame excuse because you were too assed to save a tenner a week which could have gone towards a new water pump..

i went down with car overheating whole way.. car was rego'd 2 days before we left , so no excuses ( unless there is a death in the family )

Yeah well I'd have liked turning up too but unfortunately I get lumbered with work on the Australia day weekend. A massive bicycle run through the Victorian alps. All centred on Bright. At this stage I expect to be on the bicycle run next year too. Easter would possibly be better for many of us and an cooler weather would be an advantage for testy cars that run hot.

I did catch up with a couple of the Vic boys as they passed through.

...just a thought, if a group of WA people got together they may be able to do a good deal loading all their cars on a transporter to Sydney and collectively drive over in a minibus. Save wear and tear on the cars, shared driving the mini bus means they could keep rolling along as drivers can swap, and it should turn out cheaper overall. Have a party on the way over and back even! Keep in mind transporters would generally go over full and come back part load so back loads should be negotiable.
