Hi guys,
This is the information I finally received from MGCCN.
Estimate for the Gemini Come and Try event, organized by the MG Car Club.
-Track Hire
Including set-up, Vests, Witches Hats, Toilets, Flags, Brooms, Fire Ext, Bull Horn,
Document Preparation, etc.
$ 800.00 + gst
-Timing
By computer with one set of results, including operator, if available.
$ 150.00 + gst
-Alternative to above, hand held stop watches, recording of times by your personal.
No Cost
-Three Officials
Experience CAMS Licensed Officials, 1-Event Command, 1-Event Scrutineer/Track Official, 1-Event Secretary.
$ 150.00 + gst
-CAMS Permit Fee
$ 300.00
-St Johns Ambulance
$ 180.00
-CAMS Come and Try Licence
$ 25.00 required by each competitor.
So what this means is to have the track to ourselves for the day it's going to cost $1525 inc GST + $25 per competitor. If we want to keep the costs low per person then we need to rally up some more starters. Another forum maybe? Any ideas?

Did you want to talk to the MG guys and see if they are keen?
Don't mind sharing the track with them might make things a bit more competitive lol
Ps any other car clubs or what ever in the area that might be interested?

Bump...
1. Firebug - 1 car, 1 driver
2. sly380 - 1 car 1 driver (maybe 2 cars, mentioned in the thread)
3. Jet-PilotTD - 1 car 1 driver
4. whiteboy - 1 car 1 driver
5. antus - 1 car 1 driver
6. ross - 1 car 1 driver (or 0 cars, 1 driver double enter ant's coupe)
7. cazz - 1 car 1 driver
8. gem202 - 1 car 1 driver
9. ShylanMotorsport - 1 car 2 drivers
If I've left anyone out please say so.
A bit of a breakdown of the fees is as follows:
10 cars = $178 each
11 - 15 cars = $164 - $127 each
16 - 20 cars = $120 - $101 each
21 - 25 cars = $98 - $86 each
26 - 30 cars = $84 - $76 each
Where we are at the moment is 9 cars @ $194 each...
I cant run on the day now either. But I'll put up the money for one spot if we make it past 20 confirmed starters. From what I've been told the MG guys get the track for $25/day so they wouldn't pay any more than that to run with us.
Also we need to confirm if we are going ahead with the event. CAMS requires 6 weeks notice for this kind of event but the club said they can get around that, but no less than 4 weeks. This will also give the club officials some time to make other arrangements for the long weekend if it's decided we wont run.
If we can make EOI finish on the Wednesday 20th of this month, that'll give us some time to argue over final numbers and contact the club with the yes/no booking.
If we each make an effort to advertise this on other forums and car related sites we should be able to get the costs down considerably. Remember that the Gemini Nationals are representing this event so the behavior of those we invite will reflect that. i.e: No fuckwits please...
What do you reckon Jonno, does the above sound fair?

I'd be in on it but just with the financial side of things at the moment i can't confirm as much as I would love to race.
I've got this on a few forums so far some guy in a 180 was keen to.
Can expand further than just geminis so the numbers are made up and the cost comes down.

Cool, if you can get some serious confirmation with some names/usernames to add to the list that'd be great...DrewZa86 wrote:Yep i gee'd my mates up in their 180's, any excuse is a good excuse for those guys.
