Nationals 5 - Easter 2013 - Get Ready for a Nniicccee time

Post by Jonno »

Welcome to the 5th Installment of:

The Gemini NATIONALS!

The usual organisational stuff can go in here.

Location, cruise route, accomodation further discussion.

Due to the nature of the event (for ever growing) it's going to be held again on the Easter Long Weekend.

It's just easier to organise with a 4 day weekend, especially for the interstate travellers.

So that's from Friday the 29th March - Monday April 1st. I don't know how it's going to pan out with accomodation,

The SuperCruise Details are as below

As constructed by Justin Sherwood (gemsince88)

We will be meeting up at the Tuggerah Supa Centa Carpark Located off Bryant Drive Tuggerah NSW. I hope to have a section sealed off for Gemini only Parking

We Aim to depart around 10am, remember this cruise will pretty much take up the whole day and a stop for lunch.
Ensure you have a full tank of fuel, money for lunch & a Walky Talky as they are useful. (Can pick them up from supercheap for less that $50)

It should be a decent run with plenty of opportunities for pictures and a chat.

For further information regularly check this thread and on Facebook through the Elite Gemini Group.

P.s As previously stated do not come expecting that irratic driving behaviours will be tolerated this includes burnouts and causing others problems during the cruise.
I WILL report you to the police and have no worries handing them your rego plates.

It's an event we've spent a while organising so we want a excellent reputation.

Accommodation Details as Below:

For those people who are from interstate and looking for accommodation We will be staying at

Two Shores Holiday Village, Wilfred Barrett Drive, The Entrance North, New South Wales.

Call: 02 4332 2999

Booking details are as follows:

$50 per night per site for 2 people. Extra people are $10 each booked under the "Gemini Nationals" under my name.

http://www.twoshores.holidayvillages.co ... ation.html If you want to look at the park

The event will be held over the Easter Long Weekend but the main SuperCruise will be on Easter Sunday 31st March

Previous stuff and Info.
Alot of parks have a minimum of 5 night stay so we might be looking at Thursday night also.

As per the lengthy agruement on location we are thinking about moving it up the coast a bit. As much as Kiama is a sweet location
a few people have mentioned that we had 2 meets in Port MacQuarie just had the 2nd at Kiama so It might be worth branching out a bit.

The suggestion was thrown out to have it in Nelson Bay (North of Newcastle) I did some quick research and apparently there's some
nice roads to cruise around on. Justin (gemsince88) has kindly said he will scope out the area and stuff so I await his input to the thread.

I've had a quick look into the accommodation and it's a little bit more expensive than Kiama. (This is for one park chain though)
I haven't had a serious look into it.

Ideas, comments, queries.

P.s This Post is subject to change with updated details, Just like the Kiama one so people don't have to go through 58 pages of
stuff to find out all the specific details.

Please for the love of the gemini gods , make sure your car is as close to legal , if not as legal as possible , as there is possibly a high chance that police will be pulling us all over and going over the cars. So make sure your car is in good roadworthy condition and no skids/hooning will be tolerated.

OK so I have had a think about the idea of Nelson Bay and feel it may not be ideal.

This is the area in question.
    Image

Although the bay is a pretty area with local attractions it is relatively isolated and in my opinion the roads are boring. It would probably take over an hour just to get to good "driving" roads. Also as Jonno has found it is expensive and during the Easter break it would probably be overrun by Novacastrians.

So I propose to stay somewhere on the western side of Lake Macquarie.
    Image

I'm not sure how many van parks are around the lake and the prices but I did look up one on the net at Wangi Wangi with prices around $30 a night mark.
One advantage of staying around here is that its close to the freeway and the other is that most of the "good" roads are west of the freeway.

I've been around all this area on the bike and think it would be good for the cruise.

This is just an idea at the moment.
