15's for $1500 , who would be interested in the challenge?

Post by LOK15 »

This is a challenge for a Naturally Aspirated only engine , single cam G series donk.

Rules would be pretty simple , and there wouldnt be any cost offsetting ( selling parts to devalue the item needed , ie buy car for $1000 with twin carbs , sell car for $900 then say carbs cost $1000. Costs would be relative to the average price of the unit , so carbs ( if previous example is used ) would be $600.

Who is up for some fun?

Timeslips must be provided......

There would be a prize at the end for the fastest or first to achieve this ( fastest or first TBA which one it would be )

Any gemini , you can do whats needed to reduce weight , but not cut any body apart ( saving the gem to be able to be road registerable )

RULES INPUT REQUIRED TO MAKE IT AN ACTUAL CHALLENGE

Oh , cost of car isnt included - ie shell for either $100 or $10,000 doesnt count towards the final costings.

Its more about what you can pull off cheaply for the best results.

since it seems to be a simple challenge , should it be 14's for $1400 then?

Or maybe thats the next challenge?

being a gemini only comp , maybe it should be that you need to start on a new vehicle and cannot include your current that already runs low times..

LOL should make it that the car can only be auto!! then it really would be a challenge!!

N/A makes it easier for other people to have a crack.

Not everyone can go the turbo route.

plus my turbo s@*tter is still under the $1300 budget... is yours?

Yeah by heaps man.

I owe elky some $ then buy tyres.

I've got a couple of bits to buy and I'll still come under budget.

(Ps this amount of money is aimed at getting it down the straight which really isn't what I was building the car for so I'm not counting paint handling upgrades or interior fancies Like guages etc)

Are there any rules people want included? Im thinking of making it so it HAS to be a 1600 block/crank , bore size doesnt matter , head selection doesnt matter , cam size doesnt matter and intake / exhaust doesnt matter.also must be 4 speed manual. The car must remain as close to road registerable as possible , you can take the interior out.
