Make sure you do a thread on it here like im doing ( although instead of like in the projects thread , just aim on info about the motor and any weight reduction etc , but remember the rule , its gotta be under $1500.

Perhaps there needs to be a separatae thread for people to list helpful bits they may find? Been a few in here already, separate thread would make it easier to find them all.

A stolen thought entered my mind , and the car must be named something either good , stupid , or extremely slanderous ( but not crude enough to not be possibly used for advertising or the such )

Im interested in this, but the rules dont really work for me. I'd like to buy a s@*tter VN commo, a s@*tter gemi, put the engine, a T5 and the efi in to the gem, and see how fast that goes for the money. and/or get a $300 chinese turbo, $80 2 bar map sensor, keep the delco efi.... put that on either the v6 or a crusty g161 and see what happens. 13s for $1300 allowing boost or engine transplants and with no requirement on remaining registerable would be fun, if we do that next year....

some guys already got a VN to do 13's for under $1300 , so what your asking kind of defeats the purpose , as your only throwing it into a lighter car. Anyone can do it. Getting a N/A motor ( g series ) to run 15's is a challenge.. It can be done , it all depends on what you do internally to the motor.

Plus its more easy to get rego'd , which means you can go out on the street and take a few VN's on , might surprise them on how quick a lil gem can be , plus you have the advantage of saying its still running an original motor ( not turbo'd etc )

i got a g200 down to 14.9's back in the 80's..wasnt that hard back then as parts were cheap(less than $500 for the twins on a fet manifold).
and nothing special in the bottom end:shock:
but it should still be doable

This sounds like fun to do. My question is, if I don't run a 15.99 but still meet all other criteria, will we all throw in what ever times we run & see who wins?

Cheers.
my gemini may be s*#t, but ur ugly, at least i can fix my car
