stock engine dude.. dosnt even have a cam in it.

plus my tires have a fairly small rolling diameter, so it runs out of puff about 3/4 track.. it would be in the 16's with just a taller/standard tire height

plus i have konis set to rock hard so if i try take off to hard from the line it axle tramps like crazy. if i softened them up i would get off the line a little quicker also

i wouldn't use mine as a comparison for this comp. its not really set up for the drags

So here is the proof it can be done.

I will add , coxy did this whilst being an apprentice mechanic, so it goes to show even will little experience , it can be done!

not a stab dave , just showing its possible without big $$$ or tonnes of experience.

No stab taken, it was my first ever performance engine build, and only my second ever engine build..

Twin webers, decent cam, home ported head, 120 over 1600, extractors, & get it dyno'd. Job done..

I hope whoever got those twins is entering....

I missed out, unlucky timing with bills and other expenses meant I had to let it slide.

Otherwise I'd be joining u in this challenge Lok.

yeah a 32/36 will do it for sure, be easier with twins though. you will have to pay special attention to porting the intake manifold..

I doubt i'd rebuild my other engine before the 2013 nationals [or my car for that matter] but might of came under the budget.

G161z with 5 speed and extractors [bought as whole car] $200
Twin 40mm Sidedraft Delorto's [minus shipping] $100
Manifold with linkages [Pending] $220
Rebuild kits $80

I'm going to try this with one of my geminis.

I got bored and pulled the head off and found some nasty piston slap, so a rebuild is a week away.

Seems very possible to me. I'm keen to make my gemini faster than my vt
