Coupes- Post pics of all the coupes around - 56K warning
I think I have a piece of the jigsaw on the pre release imported coupes.
The ""ATX" part of the chasis number on mine is an obvious after thought as it is a differect size and not perfectly straight like the rest of the number.
Also the compliance plate only has "ATX" and the rest of the chasis number is missing. It is also screwed to the firewall not pop rivoted.
I reckon that when they came of the boat some guy with a box of compliance plates (with just "ATX" on them), three letter stamps and hammer went through the whole fleet.

as far as i know all gemini's were built in qld,the current theory on the atXXX or btXX is when they run out of numbers they change the first letter to start again
also only in australia are gemini's known by their t series number in japane they are know as pf50's or pf60's depending on engine size,so they will have had all their numbers stamped here but maybe letters and numbers by different people or maybe the radiator panel replaced back in the day and stamped by a panel shop? illegal yes but not unknown.
