Yeah man especially seeing a it was run in full street trim, had full exhaust, same tyres I ran on the street, bp 98, all interior it normally has, etc etc.. Pretty fkn stoked! Didnt even touch the suspension.. All I did was drop the tyre pressure to 15psi, might be more traction with less.
Yeah the box is loving it so far, see if I can get 9's with an mua...

time for an update, nothing too much has been happening lately, too broke lol..
Having problems with valve guides though, chopped another one out. Has a misfire on boost that defied diagnosis on the dyno, looks like it's getting boosted valve float though causing the miss..
Bronze guides here i come!
Probably wont be able to afford to tech it for 9's before jambo
Still take it for a drive every now and then though, cruises fine..

Yeah mate we crossed that bridge when we originally set the head up, this just seems to be a case of a few things conspiring to cause a problem. All sorted now though, have some custom guides in it so hopefully that's the end of that!arrow wrote:Coxy I too have choped out valve guids. My problem ended up being the retainer hitting the valve stem seals. the retainer was pushing down hard causing the valve to push sideways on the guide at full valve lift. You have most likely cheched this if not may be worth a look
Should have her going again tomorrow, i'll have to wind the boost down lower so it doesn't run a 10 again.
Once I sell the van I should be able to get the tech done then i'll tune it on 30psi & see what happens!

Misfire still there, going over everything again, getting some more msd lead material to make a spare set to try even though these ones test fine, trying some different coils, going over & making extra earths, checking connections on the cdi etc etc.. s*#t is getting real & I'm running out of time. Might see if I can get it on the dyno again & hope the thing actually plays up on it this time, last time was 3 hours of clean power runs & tuning with no miss
