this is good advice :) ^ i reckon they break up the car alot more being that colour mate, and go well with the sl/e moulds. but then again! each to their own hey!

Yeah funds didnt allow any pearls. This paint job only cost me $1500 !!!!!!!!!

And as for this rims i had a pipedream of 16s on the back tucking hard for car shows with 15s on the front ... but it all costs money so , doubt they will get painted , so many other things going on and its better having 2 sets in different colors im thinking anyway.

Leave the rims as they are. Get the thing lowered a bit more and she will look awsome. She'll have the looks and also have the go :)

Still been doing bits here and there on coupe as i get time. These just updates are copied from GemsWA.com

Image

My old muffler was leaking badly around where the exhaust exits the muffler , my car was backfiring very loudly and sounded like a truck . So a new muffler was fitted at Mettams Mufflers Balcatta for $150 , great bloke - did it in about 20 mins :) . When i left i gave it a free rev and it backfired massively and scared the s*#t out of me . I think it was the ECU trying to re-tune itself as for the rest of that day i had to baby it with no revs at all , if i backed off with any revs over 3000 i would back fire and carry on like antilag on a rally car . Really had me worried and pissed off as thought i needed a dyno tune . YES it sounded insane , but i wasn't keen on blowing a new muffler apart .. It worked itself out and the next day it was fine.

Image

Then i started fitting my new radiator i bought on ebay . Its a stock type radiator with 3 cores instead of 2. Sadly my big piazza clutch fan didnt fit anymore so i had to make do with a 6 blade engine fan (from a gemini with aircon) that didnt quite line up with the water pump holes so i had to enlarge the fans holes and then it was hitting the front water pipe hose . so i needed to fit some spacers to clear that . Then it was all good ! Keeps the temps below the first line on my temp gauge so im happy . Will need larger spacers and longer bolts at some stage as its a bit far from the radiator.

Diesel Gemini Radiator on top , 3 core Gemini on bottom - You can see how the diesel core is wider and goes all the way to the mounting points , its actually longer too. Hose points need to be swapped.

Image

Thermo didnt quite fit and the big piazza clutch fan was very far forward and was rubbing on the core. I used the 6 blader and it howls --ROARS!!! Dam thing is so loud .

Image

My clutch was f*#cked after motorvation also . It was drivable on low boost but when that started slipping too , i decided to replace the clutch . So i had i on Dads hoist took about 3-4 hours and away it went :) .. I just fitted a HD Rpm brand clutch. Cost me $160 .. Bites in pretty good , actually stalled it first up LOL .. Then a week later i get a msg from Scott saying my Diesel Gearbox is rebuilt ------- Ahhhhhhhhhh i have to rip the box out again ! LOL

Well been getting around a bit lately . Ive lowered the back more now its nice and level front and rear .

Made a little Vid too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZSjt7tC ... UcTJu_J84=

11th of March was a Bikini Car wash show and shine at Innaloo Auto pro ..Had a few mates going down so i joined them with some Gems .. more pics here http://www.gemswa.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5990

Then there was a JDM WA cruise on a Sunday night , with one meet at Karrinyup , so i hit that up too, met some new friends and got invited to the next one by Admin - Even though its a Holden , they can see it has JDM flavour and recognize it as a Japanese small car backed and sold by Holden.. Sweet!

My 16s were Very bald after Motorvation and id been enjoying them on the street for far too long so - back on with my 15s

Image

Got bored this weekend gone and fit an Original steerer
Image

After that went to clints and he repaired my check strap . So no more dodgy door for Coupe yay :D Thanks Clint!
Image

Cruise is coming up , always something to do besides the detailing  .. Might fit my race seats i think , maybe stock stereo .

Found some energy today and installed my factory Tape deck an Isuzu steering wheel insert i printed on photo paper .
Image

Sneakily installed my Alpine head unit in my glove box and moved my ECU to the outside of glove box . . I found some screws that fit the sides and rear threads of the deck so its properly mounted , with one small bracket. I have it as high as possible at the rear and just low enough at the front to clear the door catch. Can still store somethings under it :)
Image

Lots to look at and play with in Coupe now LOLS

Its not running at the moment but it does have G200w Twin cam in it , I had it running but it sounded terrible rough as guts . I need the Solex carbs kitted out or go EFI , Maybe even ITBs
I will try and get some pics up for you all soon . I need to organise my photos and get them onto photo bucket for all my cars..

Cool!

I've been often tempted to throw my twincam in my coupe.
I've only got the EFI gear is the problem :( I think twins would be so much cooler.

Mmm. The clean factor makes me think I should make mine less hack spec.

It'd turn into the red one and never get driven. My old man would be at least happy.

Mmmm...DOHC.

Whats wrong with it/what do you mean it sounds terrible? As in knock-knock whos there, or just running like s*#t?

Thanks Firebug. and Johhno what you want is something in the middle . Neat and tidy but completely disposable (hacked body shell) so you can give it hell.

Its nice in photos and better in older photos like that one .. I have some issues with the paint again and rust ..

The carbs need new gaskets put through them .. I got them recently but they sent me the wrong size , coming from italy it took 16 days for the right bits to arrive , which was today .

Engine seems to be in great health just need to sort the induction side. ;)

It does sound awesome but i drove up the street and it was completely f*#cked farting and s*#t. I found some massive vacume leaks on rear carb.

Listen to DOHC below ... vroom vroom :o
