well on the weekend we had it outside running when it just stopped... and couldnt be restarted...
After a quick check of a few things , it was found that the points had snapped the spring steel spring that snaps the points into the closed position.
Never had this happen to me before , so quick 2nd hand set of points and its going again..
Doesnt have as much power as before , but i didnt stick a timing light on it either.
Today i managed to find jacksons rubber and foam in ipswich , only to find they are closing down. So i'll be back there tomorrow ( maybe ) to grab some vinyl for the door cards ( this will be a first time trial of making them this way ) , and some new pinch weld door seals ( discounted ) , and might even buy a whole 50m roll!!!!
The trims will follow on the theme from the outside of the car , but seems as i dont have a sewing machine , im going to trial a thought i had today about how to make them ( its been slow at work waiting for parts to arrive ).
I *will try and grab a heap of pics of how i make the trims and a step by step guide , time pending ( and energy ).
Car needs to be lowered asap , as its looking like a 4wd gem atm.
Interior is still covered in dust and i have no radio , only the whistle of the wind through where the door seals should be, so its a rather boring drive to work , but boy does it turn heads!!!!!!
Oh , and im selling this as soon as i finish the interior to a RWC standard.
So if your keen on owning it , let me know!!!!
*may or may not happen

i had that split door trim idea first
NAH!! Do a Aussie version. Skullin VB while working on the Gem and get some hilarious yobbo to host it.
More like, "Oi, c*#t, heard you like f*!kin Geminis. Even though i reckon ya should just buy an off- guts commodore, here's your new ride."
I can see it now, youtube sensation.
