so su593m had a few left gaurds for sale, figured i would grab them for teh coupe in hope it would motivate me to paint it, funnily enough the gard im gonna use was off my old tc!!! was the best panel of the whole bloudy car anyhow it had to dents in the front corner 1 was probably about half a glof ball the other about teh smae butr more oval shaped, none theless with a bit of love heat and a nice filing the gaurd looks much beter,

its had a small repair at the bottom corner that whilst done well im going to chnage for a flush join and i will tig the repair to avoid warping the panel anyhow pics

so this thing ended up getting some more love, the standard cam gear got the boot and an adjustable 1 found its way in there, the weber finally decided it needed a rebuild and along with it came a holley blue, reg and port matched manifold to adaptor,

now it would seem theres a set of twin 36 idfs on there way just need a manifold and to make a new exaust and i might consider sending it to the dyno

so with the car really starting to feel neglected recently elky sent me this little piece of early model gold

Image

with this now aded to the left gaurd and bonet im just needing a bootlid now.

so the 32/36 weber that was on theer was really getting tired, it was a bit rough when i bought it and the acelerator pump was starting to leak so i though a rebuild would do it a world of good

Image

Image

Image

Image

on a whole turned out beter than i thought, while i was there i thought the manifold could do with a tweak as well sooooo.......

Image

Image

Image

Image

this pretty much left me thinking if the manifolds done and the carbs done i beter get some fuel to it properly which ment a new pump reg and a few mods to go with

so with some of this

Image

and a bitta this

Image

i had something like this

Image

then i took the resister out of the fuel pump circuit and put a extra fuse inline to run it off the standard fuel pump circuit at full 12v, best mod i ever did as far as practicallity and saftey, the old pump driven off the number plate light was a bit povo

and finally i decided to give my cam abit more agression with the adtition of this beautifull cam gear,

Image

Image

Image

now this was all good till the extra load streched the timing chain to the poiunt it was gonna break, so that ment a new chain had to be put in and after about an hr or so i had a new chain in there retimed and back firing on top, the gear has no timing marks on it so u use the crank to adjust advance or retard

so basically i now sit at lights with a lumpy as f*#k idle with people confused as f*#k when i tell them standard motor lol,

and other than that for being diven daily its doing a OK (touch wood)
