Haha Im not sure there will be much weapon-like actions coming from this as yet. The hillclimb will serve as a good testing ground for an entirely new setup in the car, and new driver(s), one of which hasn't really ever driven a Gemini. I look forward to the practical experiment. .. :)

After tweaking his magic in an exhaust filled garage, Sam managed to bang out a tune that made the car sound a whole lot better. Just the right amount of beer and carbon monoxide was ingested I guess. The charger belt however still has itchy feet and now walks forwards and backwards :? I have a spare in case we shred this one at the hillclimb this year. If we go through both then N/A will have to do for the remainder of the day.

Seeing as you know my opinion of SC14s anyway.

Are you able to make some sort of mount for an anti belt slip guard?

I reckon if it slips off at the hill man bin it run n/a put some times down have lols.

Yeah mate that's the plan. Have some fun and make some noise while it lasts. TBH the pump itself has done everything it is supposed to. Sam has the boost figures which I assume are not enormous but anything higher than nought is going to make power. Throttle response was also a big improvement. It is the bloody tensioner pulley not playing ball. If I was going to keep the Jap puffer I'd have to redesign the tensioner setup which costs time and money that would be better spent on a combination that works better and makes more power.

hah we'll see how good the tune is at the track :P hard to do much proper tuning in the shed with foot on the brake..... that said we did see 164kpa on the map sensor, which is about 9psi (100kpa = 0psi - 200kpa = 15psi)

also for your reference bill, the rev limiter you hit was 5600rpm :P

I dare say we will see more boost when its loaded up on the track as load is what creates boost, and the rear brakes in your car are certainly not as good as mine at holding it back when I've done this test!

the other thing that's interesting, in one of the tests we saw 160kpa at 1500rpm, that's going to help you get out of corners a lot better than a turbo would! and its looking like your injectors are about on the limit at stock pressure :) but you have an adjustable regulator so theres always that for more if we need it!

Thanks for the feedback Sam! Yep the stock drums are what they are I suppose. But I was happy to drop it on the ground and allow the concrete to help hold them still...

Keen to see it go.
Any idea what sort of power it'd be making? (Guessing at 9psi) probably making about what 180-200kw?

yeah I actually thought of that afterward bill :)

Jonno, who knows, more than stock v6 definitely!

also I was thinking on the way home about your belt issues, and I was thinking, the bottom side of the belt is the tight side, motor pulls that side of it, so then the tensioner side of it is the slack side, so as it comes off the crank it can flop around and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's causing a lot of your issues of it jumping grooves on the blower pulley.

I am not sure if you are able to get the belt any tighter, but it also may be that you can never get it tight enough without a spring loaded tensioner.

Should be an interesting day. Hopefully more "in" time than "under the bonnet" time this year.

It does what it does ... shame the VX won't quite be cooked in time.
