TD Coupe Twin Cam Rally Car
It will be running in a month or so. Hoping to do a couple
of events before the end of the year. A few events in the
forrests of Canberra & in central west NSW around Orange.
Yes I will be running a longer gear sick, about twice the height
of that one. I'll make an adapter this weekend.
With the Nav's footrest GEMWRC, the buttom on the left is for
the horn & the RESET buttom on the right is for the tripmeter.
With the events I do you are given intermediate distances
between the corners. This just button resets the distance
readout so you don't have to move your hands to the unit
on the dash.

Here's a video from Youtube from 2008.

About 4 mins & 30 secs in. (red & white)
This was my 82 TF rally car.
2008 BRM Safari in Canberra. Still on my
'P' plates at that stage! lol. Ended coming 15th outright.
Not much done to that car at all. Near standard G161,
standard carby bigger jets etc. It did have 4 wheel
disk brakes though

That steering is going to be like a go cart,
And what's that beam running under the front of the box. Is it custom or is my car missing it?

Yeah it will be one hell of a Gemini
when it is finished! haha
The Escort rack is a straight bolt up to the standard
Gemini mounts, but that's where it ends.
- Escort rack ends are 50-55mm shorter than a Gemini.
- Joining the steering shaft to the rack.
The Escort rack I have is a competition one from the UK,
it has the new 'screw-on' style rack ends. Standard escort
rack ends have a imperial female thread that you can
adjust up when they wear.
I use rack ends from a Volvo 740 & tie rod ends from
a Escort MKII (same metric taper as Gem). Just the
right length.
If you have an early Gemini straight steering shaft,
you can simply bolt it up to the flexible coupling. Easy.
The later ones have uni-joints & an intermediate shaft.
I grafted the Escort spline onto the end of the intermediate
shaft (properly of course).
It would be perfect for drifting mate for sure!

The trip computer is a Brantz Lazer 3 from the UK.
Really good units. This one is top of the range, does
0-100km/h times, fuel distances & counts 3 separate
distances at once.
Cost about $1000
Have used Terratrips' in the past but didn't like them
When I get it going I will have to come on a cruise
with the rest of the boys in the Gems
