Well.........as people know, most things have to made for these engines.
That's what I am discovering now

Forged CP Pistons are being made now, have Carillo conrods, stainless valves being made now too,
All new bearings, seals, chains, water pump & gaskets (Genuine Isuzu parts), all ARP bolts & studs,
10,000rpm dual valve springs, 290/288 Camshafts (specially made buy JUN Machine Shop in Japan)
Lightweight Chrome moly billet flywheel, AND Dellorto 48 DHLA's hanging off the side :D
I have just finished the head work, porting/polishing too.

As for the coupe body, looking around for a TG front & rear end to put on to it.

Yeah I know........ way too much to spend on a Gemini

The only real big things are the pistons & camshafts. The rest
isn't too bad. Build it once, build it right

Owwwwwwwwww yeaaaaaaaaaaa!

I started building mine then shelved it for the time being. It *might* make a re-appearance much to Jonnos dismay if i can get a straight answer on wether or not the engine is IPRA legal.

180 or 200 based?
What sort of lift have the cams got? Im assuming thats your advertised duration?
Whats the CR your shooting for?
Were the carillos an off-the-shelf or custom made item and what do they weigh in at?
What fuel are you using on it? [Dunno rally rules]
Why is the sky blue?

I have so many questions! Lol

PS seeing as your dealing with JUN/have the contact....have you asked them bout the 4.5kg flywheel they make for these things?

You know the conrods are identical to g200Z so you can just use spool rods. . I'm getting cp pistons made for the group A car too, little way down the track though as I have to get the body done first. What comp ratio and fuel are you using? I was thinking I would have to send them a plaster mould of the comp chamber to get mine done!

Yeah Coxy, same rods as G200Z. I wouldn't use Spool rods in my lawnmower though
The comp will be around 11-11.5:1 & it will be on 105 octane fuel.
CP actually have a mould & drawing of the Twin Cam head chamber, they also
have made quite a few pistons for the Twin Cam's already.
I'm in the same boat.........have to finish the body first too

Cheers Darren :) The cams are more suited for torque than outright power,
I will let you know how they go.

The twincam rods actually have squirters built in to cool the pistons, I'll be running spools in mine but am retrofitting remote squirters to keep the piston temps down.

I like the sound of your build mate, I'm in the early stages of getting the gear together to build my own ;)

Nothing wrong with Spool rods, I know plenty of people running them with no issues. Including Damo's 914hp at the wheels G180Z!

Allen the G200Z has the oil squirter holes in the rods same as twin cam :)

Yeah I haven't heard any major issues with Spool rods. Just some of the tolerances aren't on the money
all of the time & the finish quality of the rods aren't great. AND the thing that stops me
using them........... they are Chinese. What isn't Chinese these days though?
I actually have a set in the box still, I just couldn't do it
