So how is the build coming along Ash? Will we see it in the forests this year?

Hey Brett, yeah the coupe probably wont be in the forest
this year but aiming for next year.

The shell I got looked alright but the more body filler I took
off, the more rust I found. It was a half done project by an
'apparent' panel beater.
Here are some pics of the body repairs.

Can you tell me more about how you moved the engine back?

Did you modify the firewall or tunnel?

Have you made a sump fit?

Will you have to remake your exhaust/ headers?

No the firewall & tunnel are unmodified. It's only close near
the starter motor bump on the belhousing.
Yeah I will have to just shorten the front exhaust section where
the headers bolt to the exhaust.

I haven't even looked at the sump yet but should be easy to
modify & fit.

thanks, did you just modify the bracket between the engine and the rubber mount to get it where you wanted it?

in the picture the rubber mount looks different to a standard one?

The engine mount brackets are standard & not
modified either. In the pic I only bolted the engine
mount on the rearmost hole of the crossmember mount
to see how far it would go back.

It isn't 1 inch lower in the pic but I will have to make new
engine mounting brackets yeah. The rubber engine mount
isn't standard either, std ones don't like rally cars :)

where can i buy these mounts?

has just fitting those mounts to the rear most hole on the subframe moved the engine back the desired distance or do you plan to move it back further?

Under the PRC rules I run the car in your not
allowed to modify the firewall or tunnel. So yeah
thats about where it's going to sit.

The engine mounts are V8 Land Rover engine mounts.
They are strong but the thread is different to the std
Gem mounts. The base of the mount needs to be modified
to fit them.
