Yeah still looking at engine ideas, maybe
something with a bit more power!

The flares are Mk2 Escort, pretty good fit too.
It will have Kadett flares eventually though.

Haha. Don't sell your Coupe Snoz! We need more
Gemini's in rallying.

Yeah nice & small,
It's from a Suzuki Ignis.

That's the only bit you can buy, I made the rest fit the Gemini
Colum & combination switch. A fair but if work to make
it fit too
Should be a bit easier with a quick rack now!

Yeah the Mazda 2 will work too, there are
also some of the other Suzuki's that have
the electric steering.
You can also adjust the amount of assistance.

The steering with the quick rack was fine once
you where moving, but with a 2.4:1 ratio is was
difficult staionary

You can wire them up so they have full
assistance all if the time, but it can get pretty
nervous at high speed
They normally need a speed input from the cars ECU
to decrease the assistance as the speed increases.

There is an aftermarket wiring loom with an adjustment
knob that you can plug in & use.

Hey mate! Good to see someone else has attempted the escort rack!

What escort rack & pinion did you get? The 'standard' escort rack has the
old 'Cam' style ends, male thread on the rack that you tighten up to
take up any play as the rack end wears.

The 'new' style rack has the more common female thread in the end
of the rack. This is where you can use the Volvo rack end & MK2 Escort
tie rod ends.
I actually used 240 Volvo rack ends too, I used the 740 rack ends
for a wider track on a previous setup.
Part#1387451 - 240 Volvo

let me know how you go :)

You need electric P/S next too!

Yeah the standard rack. I got mk2 tie rods and yeah we worked out on friday we needed 240 rack ends so hopefully it will be done soon. Putting a dummy engine in for the fab guy to put uni joints in so it all lines up. I usually post on the fb pages what I have done. Looks like everyone wants to do it if its quite simple. Will not bother about the P/S for now want to see how it goes drifting first

Thanks mate :) Yeah there is also a company in Germany
that I have bought some parts & panels off too.

There are heaps of parts available NEW for the Kadett C
than any Gemini over here.
