Re: My Turbo 202 TG Gemini Race Car
glad you like them man
Yesterday morning they cancelled Gunnedah Drags due to copioous amounts of rain being forecast! I had planned for this to be my last race meeting before i sell the Gemini (rolling shell) to my brother .... seeing how drags is cancelled i moved up the schedule and last night the motor came out.
A bit of background for all of you, i have been wanting for a long time, a nice FX/FJ Holden body to put my turbo 202 into, and last week with a combination of long service leave pay out and the right car locally, i finally got my FX Holden
The plan is to put the gemini engine/gearbox/fuel system and a few other parts into the FX and the Gemini is going to my brother who had the white VS commodore at the hill climb with the old 202 from the Gemini, he will be putting that back in and running it with nitrous.
I hope you all wont hate me, i didn't want to loose the Gemini but i also don't have the room for all of them, so this way at least the car stays in the family and i can still see it racing
So the new beast is a 1948 FX Holden, its got a few rust repairs that need finishing off and some that need improving, but all in all its really good for its age, and the body is pretty mint!
The plan is to build it up to ANDRA Super Sedan specs and continue where i left off with the Gemini!

At least it's still in the family! Turbo nitrous? He'll have to sign up to the forum to keep this thread updated.
Should make the FX an ANDRA spec street car! That'd be pretty cool.
Also build thread for FX will be required.

Re: My Turbo 202 TG Gemini Race Car
no the motor is a naturally aspirated 202, made 200hp at the wheels in the gemini before and ran 12.78 over the 1/4 .... its been in the VS Commodore for a while, and recently been running nitrous, so its just getting transferred to the gemini.
i'll keep the gemini thread updated for you, my brothers not big on forums!
I can do an FX thread for you Jonno

Nothing to hate here! It's sad that this Gemini thread wont see as many updates like it does now but we can be happy that we have a new project to admire. The FX is more than worthy to grace these pages...

You laugh now.
I had this itch for a while.
Then it went away.
Then came back
Now there's something large occupying the coupes part of the workshop..
But that's all i'll say on that

Re: My Turbo 202 TG Gemini Race Car
thats why its a trailer queen
we've totally stripped everything out of the VS Commodore yesterday, only need to get the diff gears at some stage, but the ball is now rolling to install it all into the Gemini!
