Hey fellas..
Fair bit happening over the last few weeks . Time for some catching up posts ....

When I stripped the sill panel back it became obvious it would need to be replaced .. farkkkkkkkkkkkk
Image

My panelbeater has taken over the metalwork and repairs. He drilled the spotwelds out and popped this off .
Ewww I was expecting it , and eagerly watching to see what we would find.
Image

We treated as best we could with what we have at my place . Wire brushed , Fertan , Weld through Primer ..
Image

$91 later and we have a rare spares replacement sill
Bam! its on ....
Image

I had 2 guards repaired with replacement lower panels also

Thanks fellas . This is one thing you can look out for if you think your looking at a Gypsy shell . The decals fold over the doors and tailgate fenders.
Jazzzas had the wrong stickers but the original ones were still folded over on the inside. Big Gem picked it up for a resto.
Image

Here is a pic of the sill panel coming off. 1/8th drill bit all the way through then a 6 or 8mm I think through the outer skin only .
Then you patiently pop it off with a chisel ..

Next on the hit list was the floor .
I bought another panel from rare spares . By now the know me as the Gemini guy and give me steel bumper discount :)
This is how he did it .
Hammered and Tek screwed into place. Then marked out with white paint pen.
Image

Then he laid tape down and marked the inside edge.
Image

Where he then cut the floor out .
If your a grub like my mate you will nick the gearbox mount and firewall support arm .
Image

Then he made it all shiny and dropped the piece in .
Image
Image

Overlapping that 10mm and tek screwed down again
Spot welded , beaten and then welded all the way around .
Image

Then he had to get under there and panel beat it up , and reattach my gearbox mount and finish it off .
Had a hole on the inside of the sill also welded that . and seamsealed it all off .
