FOR TURBO UPDATES GO TO LAST FEW PAGES

Hey guys,

After being out of the Gemini game for nearly 2 years as i crashed my TE in 2012 im back with a 75 TX base model!

G161
4 speed.
Full black vinyl interior
Absinthe Yellow factory paint
15' interceptors powdercoated silver w/whitewalls
Pedders front swaybar
50mm Kingsprings
new ball joints/tie rod ends, boots, upper and lower arm bushes
H4 round headlights
Rust removed from front guards and boxes, speaker holes welded up.
Towbar

since ive got my hands on it i have spent alot of time in the garage getting her back up to spec.

Things that i have done so far:

- Sikaflexd the torque tube rubber
- New diff oil
- New gearbox oil
- Fixed interior light
- Timed and tuned
- Removed doorbanners :?
- Full detail inside out including engine bay
- Installed a head unit and speakers ontop of parcel shelf
- Installed an overflow bottle
- Installed Fire extinguisher under front of passengers seat
- Wired triple gauges vac/oil/volts in gear console
- Installed digital water temp gauge
- Extra spacers for rocker bolts as was leaking oil
- bled brakes
- New wipers
- Cleaned up wiring (alot to go)
- Put Gem on club reg
- New gearknob

also came with the sale was a G161 that is being rebuilt shortly (already pulled down)

got alot planned but will update as i go.

yeah darren we had 25 or something like that
was a good turn out
ben did a good job organising it once again
there was even a rs import there as well

looks good man love it! did you get the rims powder coated? im getting mine done soon, if so what did they charge? just after a rough idea of what its worth. cheers :D

Thanks :)

They were already done by previous owner.

Pretty much they were sand blasted then powdercoated, he then got new hubs and had them machined to fit the rims, then new tyres and white walls think he spent in excess of $1k including the rims.

so ive been doing a fair amount of work on the gem lately.

since last update i have done the following:

Service with Penrite HPR30
Leather gear boot
Slotted and Dimpled rotors
Bendix Ultimate pads
Heavy Duty Clutch
Underbay bash plate

Last month i went to Heathcote Drags with the gem and did best of 18.8@70mph with a 2.2 60 foot

I am now rebuilding the TX

So far i have done:

Fuel system including of surge tank, 070 pump, EFI Filter, new EFI hose, FPR

G161 is out getting a mild rebuild with dished pistons, moly rings, mild cam, hd valve springs etc

attached all the turbo gear to eachother ready to be bolted to the motor when its back.

cleaned the engnine bay and am rubbing down areas currently for touchups

going blowthrough so have all the weber gear on the manifold ready to be bolted on.

waiting for the motor now then bolt it all together. getting it to the exhaust shop then straight to the dyno to be tuned

yeh mate. Haha want it done for summer cruising. Ive sourced a LSD which will go in after its tuned then more driveline reinforcing. Cant wait!

looks killer man but that turbo looks f*#cking huge what size is it?

I know i told you on FB.

But for the rest its same size as a GT3076 apparently. but with a smaller rear housing for better spool. will be laggy but i dont mind.
