The puddle of oil on the garage floor is a mandatory requirement. It is a status statement to your neighbours that you are the owner of the finest British engineering.

New fuel float arrived today , fitted to car and started it up. Runs ok , but have to wait till i get a chance to go on a longish drive to see if its going to behave itself.

Test drive finally , i think the booster is blown.. Drives fine , but when you turn key off the brake pedal goes straight back to hard. Im putting it down to the fact with the stock master and the pedal having to travel so far that its stretched and ripped the diaphragm. Luckily i have brand new ones here , so if i get time i'll pull it out on the weekend and reco it.

Little more work today , but not much. Removed bonnet and fitted a new bonnet with a hole cut in if for the scoop , also finished welding the new radiator neck and finished the scoop baseplate.

Bonnet done , but requires a little more cutting on drivers side , then i'll be welding on some 1.2mm steel bent at 90 so there isnt a sharp edge , then i have to seal it against the scoop to make it nice and legal. Happy with it so far..

Yes, thats cutting a round curve with a grinder!!!
