Happy new year useless post 2389423ty.01010
So. Not much happened at all over the break. I got sick rode the bike a few times and the coupe sat stuck at the top of the driveway and didn't do much of anything.
I didn't end up taking it to Summernats in the state it was in. I was pretty keen on ripping it up on the grass events but it wasn't meant to be. Next year.
Anyways failed target on just being a useless lazy c*#t. No excuse.
We look these instead.

Amy's had a few alternator problems which was a real pain in the ass. She got the windows tinted and did a few happy laps at Summernats.
I just turned mine on washed it and drove it around. I think I did two skids for some kids cause I'm nice like that.
Did not break anything. Drove in and drove home. Elkin was proud cause like f*#k were we pushing/dragging/fork lifting it onto a trailer/tilt tray.
Never again.
Anyway. The other day we started talking about getting cars started and going etc. It hadn't been started for a bit so took a few cranks but got there.
Still chugs along fine. SMashed it out of the drive way and got the red car back in the garage.
Anyways Elkin suggested starting on working out the problem. Diff without pulling the plate off seems to spin o-k but hard to tell with no load on it.
Tail shaft is out and we are pulling the box out.

Secret planzzzzzzzszszz.
The rebuild...
So last night we procured upper and lower control arms for the front. I'm going to replace the front arms. Further back I've complained about the drivers side having positive camber. We through it was the ball just and they were replaced. So no further luck so we think it could be the lower arm is bent.
Replace the lot and add new bushes. Worth doing anyway.
Gearboxxxxxxxx for now we are chucking in the spare 4 speed I have. Bolt it to the 1600 just in case. We want to get it moving normally again. So we need to check the diff also.
The underbonnet wiring has always been untidy. It's not dodge but considering that I threw it in originally thinking the car wouldn't run I'm going to clean it up for the track day. More a scruitneering point of view. I don't want to lug the thing all the way there for them to tell me "your wiring relay isn't secured please come back another time"... Poo.
At the same time we will start putting the 2L together. I may have a clutch sorted but that's tba at the moment. We will see how things pan out.
It needs the sump switched and the head swapped out. New gasket and what not. Will check a few things with it before I bother pulling it to pieces.
The idea is get that ready with the 1600 in there. It's battled hell before so it can do it again if we need. If the 2L is done I can swap them out.
1600 is basically the back up motor. Switch it out and go if needed.
Diff. f*#k knows. Hoping it's alright? If not I'm in a spot of bother because the only diff i can find around the place is $150 and that's bulls*#t for a Gemi diff with standard brakes on it. Might see if I can just swap out a centre.
Wtb centre/welded or not.
And then go from there. Inside is fine I might put my pedal box in with proper foot rests the coupes clutch pedal has got a 'rare spares' thingo on it and always falls off. It's in the centre console in case I ever get pulled over and that's the only thing they ask about.
Oohh and I need tyres to.
Something i need to work out also.
Anyway that's where that's at. From what I've seen there should be a shitload of Gemi Coupes at Nationals this year so should be neat to have it there.
