Its 2.5". I got an almost new late model commodore V8 stainless exhaust system so I've got plenty of pipe with bends & straights to make it up.Jonno wrote:Looks like a big pipe!

The plan is- after all the bodywork, paint, mechanicals, electrical etc are done, pull out the stocker & do the G series 1.8 or 2L big motor.

Re: TC Gemini Coupe
I haven't updated in a while, but I have got heaps done,
changed / added all the oils etc, have gone through the entire car's wiring, put a battery in the boot & ran all of the cables etc, installed a fuel pump relay in the boot with a reg, Everything works now wiring wise, Fitted up a KE70 Internal reg alternator, electronic dizzy mod, worked out rverse lights, inhibitor switch bypass etc.
I have put on some new brakes, & fitted new wheel bearings - the grease was black & burnt!
AND SHE RUNS !!!!!!!!

Re: TC Gemini Coupe
Sway bars-
front one went straight on - no issues.
Rear one - DIY
My plan here is to reverse mount a later model gemini sway bar onto mine as its non RTS, so instead of mounting it to the floor with the link ends on the axle, I'm doing the reverse like a lot of other cars are from factory.
so far it all looks like its going to work.

Re: TC Gemini Coupe
Getting there mate.
With the swaybar, thats not a bad way of doing it - just keep in mind however the angle of swaybar links can pre-load the sway bar and change the effective rate of the bar

I was going to try to get the 2x sides of the bar basically level & the link bars mounted to a bracket that I'll weld to the floor so they are 90 deg to the bar and totally vertical.
depending on if it hits the top of the diff etc.

Re: TC Gemini Coupe
Ive only kinda-sorta looked into it as adjustable rear Gemini bars are an arse to find - I know there is calculation stuff out there for it but f*#cked if i know where i saw it.
From memory, you wanted the bar ends parallel with the floor pan and the links @ 90deg with minimal tension - if the bar is too preloaded it will stop the springs from working properly, particularly if one wheel is trying to go up. My preference would be to find a rear swaybar with flat ends [much like the gemini front bar] rather than the bushed end of the gemini rear bar. The aim would be that the link should locate into the sway bar, and the opposing mount [on the body] could be 90deg angle with multiple locating holes allowing you to adjust the swaybar by changing the link angle.

Using something like this would allow you to adjust the length of the link so that you can have the correct amount of preload on the bar at ride height

Re: TC Gemini Coupe
You can still get adjustable rear bars (for RTS gems) from Mako Sway bars. I have one.
Re: TC Gemini Coupe
Any more details on that? Cost etc?

You will need to contact them and ask about the adjustable rear sway bar. It was not on their list - but they have the capabilities.
Cost was probably $250?? It was a while ago and can't remember. I managed to find a Whiteline adjustable front bar NOS on ebay first (I don't think Whiteline produces these any more) and tracked these guys down for a "matching" rear bar.
