Milesy's Van
Milesy's Van
I though I would start a little build thread on here, so I bought the Gemini panel van back in 2013 and here is how the van has evolved over the last couple of years.

Re: Milesy's Van
I picked up a G200 short motor in bits.
- G200 0.5mm
- Mahle pistons
I modified a head to suit the bottom end which resulted in 10.7:1 compression.
- G161 head, inlet 44mm and exhaust 36mm valves.
- Ported head and intake manifold
- 2508 Crow cam
- 350 Holley

Re: Milesy's Van
Then it was time to sort of the suspension, I previously had just cut the springs to gain the desired ride height, but everyone knows this is just dumb. The van handled like a piece of s*#t.
So I fitted pedders springs and QA1 shocks to the front and pedders shocks to the rear. The QA1 shocks are great with compression and rebound adjustment.
Cheers Smithy for the Pedders gear
I also added some more 2nd hand wheels to my collection, they are AVID 1 15x8.5 +17. They have 185x45 tyres fitted, these are way too stretched for my liking and when I wear them out I want to change to a set of Toyo r888 195x50. Like the 1200 ute below.

Re: Milesy's Van
How do you like the front shocks and what'd they set you back if you dont mind me asking? Look to be a pretty decent bit of kit with the seperate bound/rebound adjustment on-car

Re: Milesy's Van
The QA1 shocks are great, very simple and easily rebuilt. These shocks are designed for a 1st gen Camaro and I just changes out the bottom bush to suit the gemini. They were around $400 each. I hope that helps.
The range of adjustment is huge, which makes them great for use on the street, I haven't had the van on a track yet, I'm looking to get some for the rear soon and then go test it out

Wheel weights
The white steelies are 16x8
The black alloys are 15x8.5
The black steelies are stock gemini wheels
There is a huge weight difference

Re: Milesy's Van
Cheers Jonno,
I wanted the wheels because they are cheaper and I don't have to be too precious with them.
I hope to do a few motorkhana events later on in the year
