1982 TF Gemini
1982 TF Gemini
Thought it was time to show off my ride(s).
My first car was a gem, a white TG. Drove it for a few years and then gave it to my mum. Bought a Commodore, then sold that when I got a company car. After a few years I wanted to get back into gems so bought this;
Didn't really get the chance to drive it. Only drove it once, then it went into the garage where it stayed. I sold this off for scrap, and bought another that was painted.
No engine came with it. I pissed around then eventually settled on a carby fed 1.6 turbo.
Other mods I did include
- round headlights and grille
- piazza brakes up front
- VS commodore rears
Eventually got it going, so went for a bit of a cruise with Darren
A few teething problems of oil blowing out the rocker cover bolts, and the exhaust hitting the diff with a full tank.
But I made it on a cruise
Anyway, after more teething problems, the engine finally s*#t me off. So I sold all my G-series engines and spares.
And where it currently sits
So plans so far to do;
- sit under covers til a bit warmer
- engine bay sand blasted and painted
- suspension painted and all new rubber
- new wheels
- efi conversion
- install Altra 9 rear end
- same colour closed door respray
- a few interior bits I'm keeping under wraps until done.
So that's it for now, sorry about the essay.
Peace.

Re: 1982 TF Gemini
So updates, weld repair work that has been done;
Drivers mirror hack repaired
Passenger hack repair
Hack for speakers in front doors repaired
Aerial hole was just bogged over. This has now been plated
The rear screen was pulled. It was spotless apart from some surface rust. This was taken back, rust treated and sealed.
Trying to get as much done before January when bub arrives. I've got a 2 litre to drop in for now just to get it running.
More updates soon.

Re: 1982 TF Gemini
Not much has happened, the baby arrived.
Only this.....
I will be redoing the brake lines, changing the flexible fuel lines to AN fittings, and rust proofing the underneath (hopefully).

Re: 1982 TF Gemini
Congrats on the baby!
I'm jealous of that setup. I really need to do the fuel system in my sedan to.
Why are you changing it all anyway. (mine is to run e85)

Thanks. Its certainly an experienceJonno wrote:Congrats on the baby!
For ease of changing between unleaded for now, and then e85 down the track. Basically undo the old lines and replace with e85 compatible new lines.Jonno wrote:I'm jealous of that setup. I really need to do the fuel system in my sedan to.

Engine will be going in shortly. Only a 2 litre with Weber carb just to get it running at the moment. Twin cam and efi is down the track. Unfortunately I have something else to spend my money and time on (the baby!).F3ARED wrote:Interested to see how you find the diff. Got the engine running yet?
