Chev 305 Vortec Holden Rodeo
Hey. Early 2005 me and the old man bought a 1992 Holden Rodeo for our next project car.
Just like the gem, the mod list and attention to detail is getting more and more
Specs on the ute so far:
1992 Holden Rodeo
Engine
1998 Chev Vortec 305 Engine
TH 375 Trans - stage 2 shift kit
Chromed stainless XSPower Extractors
Mini High torque starter motor
2000rpm stall convertor
Acell Pro series distributor
B&M Pro Ratchet
Polished Power Plus inlet manifold
chrome mini alternator
anodised electric water pump
8mm leads, platnium plugs, alloy pullies etc
Running Gear
HQ Stub Axles
Rod Tech Brake adaptor
VT commodore vented disks
Dual Piston calipers
nolathane rubbers
engineered engine mounts / gearbox mount / diff mount
modified SS commodore tailshaft
VZ Crewman diff LSD (to be cut and engineered)
Rear shocks relocated
commodore brake booster
commodore dual master cylinder
Power steering
The chassis has been painted black, and all nuts and bolts have been zinc plated.
Interior and body mods to be decided in near future But im thinking a custom orangy red colour for the body, fibreglassed dash, and leather interior. Weve also got an electric ram, which might be used on the hard top lid, for it to open with the push of a button...pimped
Other body mods still to be decided on, to make it stand out. Also thinking a embossed chev logo on the tailgate...hmm all good fun!
ENJOY!

ok. well the other week we changed the front disks and calipers to VT, due to they are heaps bigger than VS and they look awsome only trouble is that we have to block them up a bit, to stop them hittin the wishbone..
as i was sayin..
Then we put the engine back in the chassis to see where the extractors are at.. looks like we will have to mod them a bit to miss the chassis..
Then today after a week at wondering about the extractors hitting the steering rod, we decided to wack the cab back on...how fun
So yeah...the extractors look awsome! the steering rod isnt as bad as we thought but it still rubs on them.. but im sure we can work somethin out
And from in the wheel well..

looks good man!
just wonderin, why did you go with the shorty rear dump headers over a block hugger type of header? ive done a few v8 luv projects and tried using different kinds of headers, and the blockhuggers always fit without modding the frame or anything.
anyways, didnt mean to be an ass. just rambling... lol

Update: 6/11/06
Well now the cab is on and we have our measurements, will be time soon to take it off again to recon the engine.
One thing we did while it was on was cover the original gaping hole, and mount the B&M for now to have a look.
Today a box of goodies arrived from Northern Auto Parts in the U.S.
Edelbrock air cleaner, electric anodised water pump, new timing cover, tranny dipstick, polished power plus maifold, edelbrock breathers, polished chrome mini alternator and accel leads
=BLING
(yep and were going to need a scoop/hump in the bonnet)

And thanks to ebay again, we have these comming from the states:
-Chrome crank pulley / power steering pulley
- 3x10" polished stainless overflow tank
- Chrome Flywheel torque convertor cover
- Chrome Timing Tab
Now looking at something similar to this to buy

Great work!!
Still thinking orangey-red for the ext color?
Maybe with some black stripes or subtle graphics to complement/match that engine?
Keep the pics coming!!
It's gonna be well worth yer obvious effort!
