Shane's old Cordia GSR turbo

Post by BackToTheGem »

I thought I'd throw up some photos of my old Cordia GSR turbo i built 8 years ago. Not quite sure how it ended up like this - started with an engine swap (after I blew the original one) and I just kept going. Was quite a good car but FWD and a severe lack of any form of readily available LSD were the biggest drawbacks.

Specs were:

Engine
4G62 (yes I should of gone straight to a 4G63 froma VR4 / Evo 3)
completely rebuilt, blueprinted and balanced
stage 1 camtech cam
TD05 20g turbo
L300 multi point inlet manifold with 65mm TB
custom water / air intercooler (made from the left over cooler from my 4ZC1t swap!!)
EMS dual sport computer
modified dizzy (only running as a sensor)
individual coil packs

Suspension / Brakes / Wheels
Koni reds front and back
all bushes replaced with super pro bushes
kings Low coils
whiteline front and rear swaybars
custom strut brace
AC Cordia front brakes (bigger than my AB cordia's) with standard rear drums (magna discs were on the cards)
Silly chrome BSA 17x7" wheels

Bodywork
Supposed to be Bayside Blue - close but no donut
front lip and side skirts
deleted rear spoiler
lots of colour coding

Interior
Sparco Torino seats (my office chairs these days :-D)
new carpet
custom door trims / quarter trims / boot setup (all by me)
rear seats removed
Bond 4 point cage
a silly big sub woofer in the boot (I was young)

It used to put out 140kw @ wheels on 12 psi boost. No engine shots sorry as I didn't get the bay up to my own standards though if anyone desperately wants to see it, I can get some - I sold it to a mate who was in the Navy (minus stereo seats and a few other bits). That was 5 years ago - it's still sitting in my shed slowly rusting away............

These photos were taken probably 6 years ago when I was living in Townsville.

Yeah I spent a fair bit on suspension and it handled ok but that torque steer - could change lanes in the wet just using the accelerator  Biggest mistake I made with it was putting in a the front whiteline swaybar. It was heaps better with standard front and whiteline rear
