LOK's Big brake upgrade kit. < NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Post by LOK15 »

GEMINI VX COMMODORE BIG BRAKE UPGRADE

Due to popular demand , and with thanks to UPC for putting my name in their ad providing free advertising for me, i am providing a brake upgrade kit.

Kit consists of:

Hubs ( 4 or 5 stud ) Zinc plated.
Hubs can be bought without studs and bearings, or with studs and bearing cones fitted. These are pre machined to accept 99% of mag wheels ( including " s%*tty Simmons" ) the bearings are chinese ( same as used by the "other" company.)

Brake lines
These are short and utilize the factory rubber hose so it doesnt rub anywhere on the body causing failure.

Rotors
These are Genuine PBR blanks drilled to suit geminis 4x100 pattern. You must run a minimum 15" mag wheel to clear these and the calipers. I dont use cheap rotors made in the same factory as other cheap rotors.

Calipers
I can supply 2nd hand units , but its better if you use your own. I will provide a modified slide bracket so they can bolt onto the factory stub axle.

Master cylinder.
VX master cylinder upgrade adapter ( currently in development in my own personal car) This will be for TF-G models only as the TE and earlier can use an XB falcon master. This master IS needed for a brake upgrade as the VX calipers have larger pistons therefore require more fluid movement which the stock master struggles to provide. Others will tell you it isnt. I have done the R and D to say it does!!

This kit will save you heaps by providing you to purchase individual parts , EG 5 stud kit means you can buy your own discs locally saving you postage costs ( due to weight ) and if you want slotted/xdrilled discs you can purchase. Brake pads , once again , available locally to you , and you have a choice of top range of budget basement.

I supply all the hard to get parts at good prices.

I will answer all questions and give better customer service. I also listen to feedback that will help improve the product.

Also coming soon is a simple kit for disc brake rear ( 4 stud only ) which should consist of a genuine PBR disc and adapter needed for handbrake ( backing plate and shoes readily available at wreckers )

More info will come as products are manufactured and tested.

Hi Lok,

With the rear disc brakes, can you supply spacer rings for the axles to centre.

Currently shelling out over $200 per set of axles to get them modified to suit VS rear disc centre spacing.

The ideal for someone like me (with no access to a lathe) would be change over axles.

I am thinking it would be easier to bore a hole in a piece of flat, tack weld it to the axles then turn it down to the right diameter. I suspect that would be less mucking about then machining a ring then fitting it separately. More accurate too.

I am up for buying a set of axles (change over) if you want knock out an extra set when you do your test fit. I have two sitting on the bench at home that I was going to sent to the guy who modified my last set, if he is still in business.

For me its easier to use a bit of pipe and turn it to size.

i'll get some dimensions and see what pipe comes close to being what i need. I can turn up some stuff on the lathe at work , then cut it to depth needed.
