Yeah will do man. The route I got I'd like can go two ways so if we had 2 or 3 cars one can go one way the other the 2nd

No links just a map I got sent.

Goes inland instead of coastal.

Est travel time is about 3 and a half hours. Sam is keen to do the trip and old mate who sent me the map said he will navigate for me.

So we can make something happen.

Here is the proposed cruise route (see below)
Reports of the road from Cessnock to Broke being shite (yet to be confirmed) may force a cut accross from Cessnock to Wollombi then up to Broke if traveling clockwise.
Once the route has been traveled by a few scouts a decision will be made as to how the route will be covered.
Lunch stop and fuels stops will also need to sorted by scouts.
Discuss People LOL

The guys who helped me nut this out suggested there's a few good eats places in Broke.
Still s*#t between Pokolbin and Broke. Rest is ok.

There have been some roadworks at the Macdonalds/Broke rd intersection which I think are finished now. But still s*#t for 1km to the south and about the 25kms to the west. Get much better once you get into Singleton Council rather than Necknock.
Parts of the road between Broke and Cessnock are fairly potholed but you just don't drive like a tool. On weekends the slow-poke wine tasting crowd are a bigger problem that the road.

Admittedly your alternative from Cessnock to Wollombi is a better road. The road from Wollombi through Paynes Crossing is fun, tight and twisty and there are a couple of one-lane bridges. On weekends you are likely to encounter a lot of motorbikes, tourists and farm vehicles and you can't see far around some of the corners so leave yourselves a good safety margin. Advise anyone in the group who hasn't been on that stretch of road not to drive like a hero. You are a long way from the hospital.
I've asked if it would be a better idea to cut that section out together completely and go via Pelton on the Wollombi Road.
The road from Wollombi to Broke is nice. Tight an twisty with no overtaking spots though. Depends on what you are after.

It's just a few badly patched sections. Not the end of the world. Just pretty crap how much Cessnock council raves about how world class Pokolbin is but doesn't do a thing to fix the abysmal state of the roads
Been advised here for food options:
For a really nice lunch at Broke I go to the Margan winery and for a casual lunch go to Wollombi
Also Mount Broke wines are doing curries, fish and chips and things like that on weekends and is a nice spot. About $20 for a main.

The road to Wollombi has one really bumpy stretch on a straight a bit south of Wollombi, but the section around Lemming Corner makes up for it.
We went to Margan Winery for lunch on Friday ... beautiful day & their deck/patio is very pleasant for a long Friday lunch ... the Holden SatNav took us from Sydney via Wollombi, the car was obviously keen for a blatt.
It's more like 80km of bumpy road, and yeah it's going to mean interior rattles in an old Holden ... VF Redine suspension is probably a bit firm for comfort on that road, but it's certainly not bad enough that anything will get damaged, just some rattles

Hahahaha, all the roads sound good, im use to those conditions, is a great looking cruise length. Seems a fair stretch of highway though, only downside . Mind you, probably a welcome reprieve for some lol.

Wollombi Tavern is an awesome place to eat if you find no love in Broke. I have been there a few times and rate it 100%. Can get busy though. It is a popular stop for cruises. We took an LS1 cruise there once and they opened a bottom paddock for us to park and take photos. Had to see the publican for that though, best call first to confirm. You wont be sorry stopping here. It is also the home of Dr Jurds Jungle Juice. Also highly recommended! Though after 2L you may be sorry... lol

Hmm ok. Doesn't look too bad at all. DaveBart who is too hell bent on caravanning the country side instead of Gemini owning set up a pub arrangement for the Kiama runs and both times they worked out ace.

I'll sus out the place mentioned in Broke and then this one. This one looks hospitable for a larger crowd which is good cause we will be having a lunch cruise as apposed to trailing the dinner arrangement this year.

ha! I'm fairly sure a guy I went to highschool with (useless cnt fyi) bought this drank the bottle fell over into a bon fire I had.

The idiot had no idea and we pulled him out before he got seriously burned...

if that route is what I think it is, going straight through broke towards mountains, then there is quite a bit of narrow windy bits, definitely not a relaxing road but its great fun if your in the mood for a bit of a fang!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!!

Hey Jonno,
Heading up through Paynes Crossing and to Broke/Cessnock, yes the road is a bit s*#t in some areas but it can still be done in a Gemini. I organised a cruise through there for NSW Gem club last year around June/July. It did have some hairy bits where you come to blind corners/small bridge crossings where you can't see if anyone is coming in the other direction on a narrow road but if people don't be dickheads then it's a good run

Cool.
Old mate said the same
"Advise anyone in the group who hasn't been on that stretch of road not to drive like a hero. You are a long way from the hospital."
Haven't had anyone be stupid at any of the cruises and I'm not suggesting this one will change.
It sounds like the track we went through on Kiama was nice scenery but the road was average. We drove to the conditions and everyone was happy.

I just don't want to bend my Simmons

Should be a good run.

Changed my mind 4pm tomorrow it's fair game to anyone to have the sites.

I've contacted as many people as I can for it and all the people who have booked are in the rest miss out.

Actually I need to see what Ethan meant or if he sorted himself out or not. He is the exception.
