Cut a similar smaller bit from the C2 panel.

Maybe tomorrow I'll trim things so it fits exactly then weld it in.

Thanks man!

Trimmed the C2 panel to suit the TX patch and welded it in. Considering it was done with a gas-less mig and my welding is generally crap it came up pretty good.

Extended the bar bracket cutouts to suit the Gemini bar and hit with some black paint to slow the rust down until I get back to prepping the whole panel for paint.

Placed it on the front of the car for effect!

Front panel is now welded in.

I had to cut slits into the outer edges of the inner guard and stretch either side about 5mm to fit around the indicator holes.

Test fitted the guards. There's a little bit of massaging to fit properly but pretty good.

Next thing is to fix all the rust that is covered by the guards then bolt them on.

I tackled the rust in the reinforcing section on the drivers side near the windscreen.
Cut the box section off to see how bad it was.

Image19553914_1814373065239582_534632068594610621_n by Justin Sherwood, on Flickr

The plan was to use this box section off the original GEM77A.
Image19657351_1814373038572918_8639046186055589691_n by Justin Sherwood, on Flickr

Ended up cutting a section of the engine bay panel out and welded in a piece of GEM77A.
There were a few pin holes in the GEM77A box section which were welded up and then it was welded to the car.
The sill section that sits under the guard only had surface rust, which is amazing, so a quick sand and painted all the bare metal.

The engine bay side will be ground down and smoothed when I do the engine bay.

Passenger side today.
It wasn't anywhere near as bad as the drivers side.

But the lower section of the pillar had some small holes.
Image19959332_1824433427566879_5102450242374895828_n by Justin Sherwood, on Flickr

Only cut the lower section off as the top is in really good condition and better than the replacement panel.
Image19905378_1824433504233538_1468064946710824345_n by Justin Sherwood, on Flickr

There were a few small holes through to the engine bay and the pillar section under the box was gone. Welded up the holes and welded a section into the pillar then painted everything inside the box.
Welded the new lower box section on.
Image19875173_1824433354233553_2157390470589682404_n by Justin Sherwood, on Flickr

Cut the rusty bits off the lower pillar then cleaned out and painted inside.
Welded small patches in then painted everything.

Next is to sikaflex all the seams and bolt the guards on.

One thing I have noticed with the C2 front panel is that it lends itself to having intercooler pipes easily!

Did bugger all today as I had to look after Kadyn and fix forum pics.
First there was Imagefuck
Then Photofuckit
and now Flucker!
Fixed some of the missing imageshack pics while I was at it.

I did dig up the guard bolts but only found 2 washers in all my boxes of crap. I'll just have to buy some!

I really should update this thread so here it is.

Not much since putting the front end on due to pissing about with multiple Suzukis but I did recently pick up C24SE Rodeo gearbox and hopefully getting the engine tomorrow, a Z20LER from an Astra. There are some pics to put up and I will do so if I get time.
