thanks Dave, and just so you know, I once wasn't able to weld, I bought one and just started playing around! best way to learn is to get out there and have a go!

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
I've been undecided about the seat location for a long time, and one of the reasons for getting the location sorted out was so I could work out where the main hoop had to go for the roll cage, which I did a while back, so I thought i'd work on the rest of the seat location and mounting.
Got the harness out and started to fit it all up
I also wanted to make a upper securing mount, the seat whilst probably strong enough, still moves around if you push your shoulders back, with this its solid as!
upper belt attachment, need to get some spacers to locate the belt mount in the middle of that stud, and i will add gussets on the sides, but otherwise its pretty well worked out.
I'm in the process of making some mounts for the lap belt, but I have a feeling one of them is going to have to mount in the tunnel, so I might not be able to finish them off just yet, and as it works out the sub belt will go nicely into the chassis rail!

Motor is getting closer, I have to weld the fittings to the top of the rocker cover, also waiting on pushrods, but on the home stretch!

Once again it has been faaaaarrrrrr too long in between updates, life and work has been far to hectic lately, but I do have some videos that might go some ways to making up for this lack of updates

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
time for a well overdue update since the previous pics this is the latest.
pic of the engine bay, a lot of tidying up to do but mainly all complete.
Finally got to ordering some coil overs, so that's just about the rear end complete!
And after drinking copious amounts of beer I had enough cardboard to make some templates

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
Transferred the template to tin, with some minor trimming the floor is in, and you can also see the tunnel is in too.
flipped the template and trimmed slightly to suit the passenger side floor.
Did a lot of work of repairing rust in the wheel arch and then I was able to attach the tubs and then make this section on the front of it to seal up the wheel arch, I did it like this so I can get easy access to the 4 link brackets and adjusting bolts.
