Re: te goes to cut out at 2/4 throttle!!!

If the mechanical advance system has seized up, at about 3000ish rpm you'll feel the engine not being as responsive, as the timing isn't advancing, so it's retarded more than normal. But it won't make it cut out like you describe. I thought this might be an issue too, until I thought what about all ...

Isuzu gearboxes - 4 and 5 speeds

Does anyone know if we have a gearbox thread anywhere? It would be good to list the various gearboxes, and if anyone had info about the differences between them and maybe what sort of power levels they can handle. I'm looking more for strength related info for high power applications. I'm only famil...

Re: Gemini wont start, no spark

With the ignition on, check u have 12v at the coil. If not, Run a wire from positive on battery to the positive terminal on your coil. Check for spark at the coil as this rules out dizzy cap, rotor, leads and plugs, etc. If you don't have spark at the coil, and the points are definitely opening and ...

Re: te goes to cut out at 2/4 throttle!!!

In that case, it could be a number of things. To check it properly, you really need to take some measurements, fuel pressure at the carb for a start, and then air/fuel ratios. Fuel pressure would show a blocked filter, or a bad fuel pump, and if you don't want to go to the trouble of measuring these...

Re: te goes to cut out at 2/4 throttle!!!

Did it only start doing this when you fitted the Weber? Or was the weber running fine all the way to full throttle and then after a while it started to cut out when you would get to half throttle?

Re: 350 Holley on TE gemini

You could get any 2 barrel Holley adaptor plate and weld it directly to the stock intake manifold. I've seen this done before, seems to work well. But you,d need to port out the plenum and runners a lot to make the swap to the Holley worthwhile, or else the manifold won't flow the air the carb can s...

Re: Crs chassis kit

The kit is a waste if time, if you follow their instructions and install it how CRS want you to. I'm not sure why they don't update their instruction, maybe they have by now? They're decent guys trying to put out good products, but this kit design has been around from before their time. But you can ...

Re: Dcoe sidedraft manifold unported CFM

Hey vivoacer, I haven't flowed a Lynx manifold, but I don't hear of them cracking with a normal DCOE install, so bringing the smallest internal diameter out to about 38mm near the flange instead of 36mm wouldn't be a big problem I would have thought. Also, it wouldn't be hard to add a supporting bra...

Re: Simple Question Regarding Brake Booster :)

A missing reaction disk will usually give the symptom of excess pedal travel like you described, but then the brakes will engage suddenly and tend to lock up very easily. But you haven't said you are having any easy lock up issues, you said the brakes are working like normal after they come on, so i...

tee a gauge into the supply line, if the fuel pressure is getting too high (say 8-10psi or more) then that's the problem, it's simply overcoming the needle and seat.

If the fuel pressure is low like 3-4psi, then the carby is the problem.

If you've decked the head and the block a fair bit, then you're going to get interferance. Thats the smallest crow cam profile, and it's only got a bit more lift than a stock cam, but if you take say 3mm off everything from decking, then there goes your valve to piston clearances. Your cam has a bit...

You can get more lift and duration out of a re-grind without welding it. They just make the base circle smaller. For eg, if you base circle is 20mm, and the peak of the lobe measures 30mm, then the lift is 10mm, if you want 11mm lift, then you just make the base circle 19mm. You can also get extra l...
