Re: OzGemini Top 10 Dyno Results Listing

Bit late but my 350rwhp in the 4ZE1 was on about 24psi. The exact boost varies a little during the run of course.

Re: Using 4ze1 dizzy for crank angle sensor Q's

Sorry Nick I didn't check this thread (obviously lol) It works like a 12/1 crank trigger, with a TDC cam reference on a second input. If you accidentally put it in the wrong way up like me, the ECU offset is about 135 degrees, but as mentioned above if you drill a hole at 90 degrees (roughly inline ...

Re: Gemini small salisbury conversion for different ratios

Incredible stuff! I'm interested, if they go well in testing and become available!
Have you had the chance to check clearance for the pinion gear in the Gemini housing? I mean it should be fine but I made that assumption with Hilux housings and got burned!

Re: Rodeo intake manifold throttle cable

I just mod Rodeo cables... grind the firewall end round then tap a thread onto it. If I remember correctly it's M12x1.25 (unusual for Isuzu) but best to double check.

Re: Using 4ze1 dizzy for crank angle sensor Q's

I'm running a DIYAutoTune item. Had to drill an extra hole to clear a mounting pin in the E1 dizzy but it's no stress.

Re: 2.6Ltr 4Z-E1 Engine and questions relating

FWIW I had to space my gearbox forward 11mm, this was with normal Gemini engine mounts and a very minor notch in the firewall lip. A smaller 4Z dizzy or one set up as CAS only might even clear the lip.

Re: T28 turbine inlet flange ( size and price)

Do you have a boost pressure limit also? I wouldn't worry too much about intake length. The restrictor will be the restriction (no joke intended), so you could get away with 2" piping and a 50mm intercooler core and flow still won't be an issue, and the right turbo will come on boost crazy earl...

Pics of my Hilux diff conversion are all on Failbook because I'm time poor and hate picture hosting websites that f*#k out after a week: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.844755812254900.1073741832.162107043853117&type=3 Javi - based on local Ben Candy's drift Gem, you won't break the di...

Re: Diffs. Real Talk

Alright, well I'm sure you've seen my Hilux conversion in the drift car. I've only driven it for say, 6 hard laps between all the issues on the day, and I haven't adjusted or tweaked anything on it. It's kind of hard to give an honest comparison in some regards because I only subjected the old setup...

Re: Custom inlet manifolds

Yeah I've been meaning to move my avatar for a few years and it still hasn't happened! What sort of numbers are you chasing? My 4ZE1T has stock runners with an early Gemracing style plenum which seems to be a slightly flattened out ~6" mild steel pipe with ends whacked on it and a Falcon thrott...

Re: Carby woes...

I have never pulled apart a Nikki so this is probably bulls*#t, but can anyone suggest if jets can actually be loose? Within reason I mean. Also the Nikkis have a fuel cut solenoid as well as a choke solenoid. Wonder if the fuel cut solenoid could play a part if it's dud or otherwise staying powered...

Re: Some advice re. TWIN sidedraft webers on stock G161???

Definitely overkill. I mean, you could put them on, but as mentioned it'll be hard to tune and probably slower til around 4-5k, then past that the head/cam won't breathe enough anyway. If you put a monster cam in with it and maybe tidied up the ports a little it'd be a different story. Even so, twin...

Re: Using 4ze1 dizzy for crank angle sensor Q's

Interesting, mine is pretty hard starting and I think may be experiencing poor CAS input also. I'm only using the four pulse per dizzy rotation output currently. Is that what you were using too? Was it hard to fit the 12-1 trigger disk to the E1 dizzy and did it solve your issue? Very interested! Ch...

Re: Incorrect CAS signal in tuning

4Z work as a pull-down voltage. You need to supply the signal wires with voltage via a 1K resistor, then the dizzy grounds it, creating the square wave. No voltage = no signal. There's a very strong chance your ECU isn't supplying the signal wires with a voltage, my Megasquirt wasn't. This has come ...

Re: G200w turbo implant

Keen to see photos of this engine! ECUs are something that require a bit of research to choose the best one for you. Unless you're electrically savvy, I'd suggest talking to a tuning shop so they can recommend an ECU they're used to working with and setting up. I'm pretty sure my G180W dizzys are re...
